Since at least 2010 I had suffered with constant back pain and tightness to the point I had to take strong pain killers just to get to sleep 💊 I’d tried everything - chiro, physio, massage, acupuncture etc you name it, I’d tried it and spent thousands on it 💉💸 Everything did help a bit but only temporary - up to a week. It also affected me at uni and at work, where I would be in discomfort and pain standing in surgery and people would think I was lazy because I was always wanting to sit down 👩🏽‍⚕️ Not long after getting back into weight training Nov last year I started noticing a massive improvement in my pain and now I’ve gone months with it hardly noticeable 😃 if I have a couple of weeks without gym it does slowly come back, so all the more motivation to keep at it 💪 Getting stronger has been the best thing for my physical health and has also made me mentally stronger 😊 #strongbodystrongmind #backgains . . . . . #goldcoast #tan #fitchick #fit #tonedgirls #girlswholift #fitness #lifestyle #gains #resilience #gymshark #peachy

Sets of 6-8 with 45lbs on weighted pullups . . I've been really enjoying this movement in my programming as of late. I really want to see how strong I can get in it. . 90lbs for sets of 8 seem doable 🤔 . . Consider incorporating weighted pullups into your routine. Really great for back development and grip strength. . Make sure that when performing these to avoid any swing or half reps. Very strict and controlled all the way up and down.

It’s the weird everyday moments that show you the most of what your hard work is creating. The ones like when you step out of the shower and look in the mirror, when you put your pants on, when you do your belt up, when you try to put a T-shirt on.... These are the things that help me measure my progress. I’m not a scale person, I’m a weight on the bar person and a how do my clothes fit person. When I struggle to get my pants over my quads and then realize they’re getting way too big on my waist, I know for a fact things are working. As I got out of the shower tonight I realized the definition coming through on my back and I am SO STOKED about it!!! I absolutely love back gains! I tried to get a picture flexing, but honestly, I suck at flexing. I really need to learn that. 🤷🏽‍♀️ I am just really happy that despite my lack in training the last few weeks, I am still losing some fat! 💪🏼 #backgains #poweredbytacos #strengthisneveraweakness #powerliftingwomen #garagegym #tacogains

follow @getrippedtodayy ・・・ The hip thrust really is one of the best overall exercises for the development of your butt. - The glutes control your hips and that bending of the hips motion you see in the hip thrust as well as in a deadlift, back extension, squat and Kettlebell swing is the motion where the glutes are working hardest. - Unlike squats, lunges and deadlifts the hip thrust hits be glutes the most when the hips are straight rather then bend. - Just to clarify: - Squats, deadlifts and lunges work the glutes most at the bottom of the rep (hips bent) - Hip thrusts and back extensions work them most at the top (hips straight) - This means that if all you’re doing is squats, deadlifts and lunges, you’re missing out. - It also means if you’re putting most of your workouts on side lying clams, mini band exercises and the good girl/bad girl machine, you’re missing out on A LOT of development for your butt. - The key areas most people go wrong with hip thrusts is at the chin, low back and often even the heels. - ✔️Chin stays tucked ✔️Abs should be tight — the distance between your imaginary belt and rib cage should not get bigger. ✔️ And don’t let your heels come off the ground. If they do, it means you’re trying to use your quads to do the movement. - Start light and and add a Barbell or dumbbell for added weight. Once you get heavy enough, it may become annoying to load the bar — at that point you may be ready to progress to single leg hip thrusts. - If you aren’t already capable of them. - Any questions? Everyone reaches that moment in their workouts where they’ve done a couple of reps, they’re a few sets in, but everything’s hurting and you just wanna quit 😩 (or do the bare minimum to finish). - So you start cheating a few reps, ending your sets early and not giving the workout your full attention. At the time it may not seem like a big deal - but trust me it all adds up. - What you do in these moments shows you the kind of person you are and how you deal with other aspects of your life. - Do you quit when things get hard? ⛔️ Do you avoid uncomfortable situations? ⛔️ Are you someone who never actually gives it their 100%? ⛔️ Do you let your mental barriers which your mind creates, limit your physical actions? ⛔️ - Find the strength to keep going and keep pushing your body to its TRUE limits. You’ll be surprised how much these last few reps teach you about yourself and develop your character 2-3 years down the line. - Start giving each rep and each set your 100% focus and attention. Fitness is much more than lifting a few weights. It’s about discipline, hard work, drive and work ethic. And all of these aspects will carry on throughout the rest of your life 🙌🏼
