I’m new at growing stuff. I mean, I’ve grown microgreens and herbs. And I co-gardened once (but mostly I just picked stuff when it was ready). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Huz is SO into growing stuff. He had an amazing rooftop patio in LA when I met him, and it was full of plants, veggies, herbs... 4 queen palms, a lemon tree, and kumquats! We didn’t live there for long enough for me to really play a role, and I’ll be honest, the pollution gunk that settled on it kinda freaked me out. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Fast forward through our 4th floor apartment in a concrete and dog pee jungle in Marina del Rey (but we were by the beach!), and our 5th floor apartment in Japan... to our fab backyard in Jackson Bill (E knows his address!). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
WE ARE GOING TO GROW ALL THE THINGS, says Huz. He promptly buys all the things to grow. Then... he leaves on a 6-month deployment. Hmmmm 🤔
Our grass barely covers the sand that is our soil, and our friendly neighborhood armadillo has dug no fewer than 100 holes (including an access portal to get in under the fence). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Huz says he can’t wait to see pics of all the things we grow. I’m proud to say that he has been gone for two weeks and we have most definitely NOT killed the banana plant.
Baby steps. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
