I thought I would share with you all some apps and tools that have really been helping me a lot with my food consumption and how quickly I eat. I know I need to slow down my eating a lot more and get more protein.
The first app is called Baritastic. You can do all of the usual things, like record your weight, water and your steps from your device will sync to the app as well. But the feature that has helped me the most are the timers, as shown in the second and third pictures.
The first timer is one I set as soon as I finish eating, it goes for half an hour so you know when you are able to have a drink. The next timer, which has made a massive difference to how much food I can consume and comfortably, is the time to chew and it goes for 20 seconds, I find it's generally the perfect amount of time to take to finish a mouthful.
The second app is called Easy Diet Diary. It can be used to track your food and the nutrition, I'm using it purely track my protein intake because I know I'm not getting anywhere near enough and it's helping me push myself to make better decisions about what I eat. Which brings me to my final tool/app.
The account @.
The information Zoe shares is amazing and I also found out from just asking her, that we should wait a minute between mouthfuls, it can seem like a long time so some people might be quicker, it's been so helpful. Also to try and take 20 - 30 minutes to eat your meal and wait 3 hours between meals, which makes sure your food is substantial (I can't think of the right word?) enough.
She also has her own personal blog with lots of recipes, tips and advice on topics that are most common with WLS patients.
This is not a paid ad or promotion, I am sharing this as I have found it extremely helpful for me and my journey and thought it may be helpful to others. ¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬
