The keys to success are discipline + consistency (both areas of opportunity for me 😉). I decided to add 1 -2 new things into my daily routine each week that will improve my discipline, consistency and overall life. The past 2 weeks I added going to the gym first thing in the morning, meal prepping and taking time in the evening to engage my community on IG.
I choose the gym & meal prepping first because our health is the most valuable thing we will ever have. Working out helps not only with our physical health but our mental health as well. Meal prepping keeps us from making bad food choices. It also saves money because we aren’t ordering take out last minute. I also choose these 2 first because I’ve had a difficult year and I put on 15lbs of stress weight and I’d like to get back to feeling like myself. So, this is a 2-fer for me.
I decided to only add 1-2 new things a week/bi-weekly because my intention is to achieve long term discipline and consistency. Think of it like a crash diet, when you go from eating Fast Food everyday then try to make Whole 30 your new lifestyle it NEVER works long term because it’s too shocking to you! However, if you start by cutting soda, then cut pork, then you cut fried foods, etc you slowly condition yourself into better habits. One is a fad you try, the other is a habit you become accustomed to. ➖
Long story short, I made it to the gym, didn’t stray from my meal prepping and did my nightly engaging everyday the past 2 weeks!! I do Morning check-ins on my stories to hold me accountable so y’all don’t let me slip!! #IWokeUpLikeThat
