Spotlight ✨on photographer, @ . We're keeping her intro brief because she has a lot to say and it's ALL worth the read.
📷 Where are you from? I'm originally from Penang, Malaysia where we lived until I was 9. I then spent time in the Bay Area before heading south to LA which has been home for over a decade.
📷 What’s your day job? I'm a Commercial + Editorial Photographer specializing in travel, food, and lifestyle. I've also started writing destination guides on the side where I share unique finds and recommendations for some of my favorite travel platforms.
📷 Favorite El Camino moment? Our last dinner on the beach in Tola, Nicaragua. We all came together as strangers just days earlier and this last dinner was unreal. We walked barefoot towards the water as the sun was setting against the Nicaraguan coast and gathered together over a delicious candle-lit meal on the sand. We took the time to recount our adventures and memories from an incredible 9-days together and dive into real conversations, the kind you have when all the surface stuff is out of the way.
📷 Favorite travel item/product of all time? A journal - I really value the quiet in-between moments during travel and having a space to reflect and go inward. There's something so special about being in a different setting that brings things into perspective which is hard to do at home. Coming back to those pages later on to see where I was during certain times in my life has been so rewarding and has taught me so many lessons about pushing onward and the importance of continuing to evolve, grow and seek out new experiences.
📷 In-flight activity of choice? Reading a book ... with actual pages, not a Kindle.
📷 Who's inspiring you to think BIG as of late? Jon M. Chu, the director behind Crazy Rich Asians. He led this giant ship of a film that so many different groups of people had hoisted expectations onto and did it with such grace, talent, and sensitivity.
