Some days I go head into heels into my workout and other days I literally force myself by just starting with the first rep after a long conversation I have with myself (I'm not crazy, I usually have to convince my brain that working out is good for my body). Usually those forced workouts is most rewarding, because you know you weren't up for it but you pushed through and completed the workout anyway, and that is bloody satisfying! To know you are finished and have this amazing energy and mood afterwards is the best reward, the stuff that comes after that is just a bonus. Happy MLK day! I hope you guys all are having a great day off (if you live in the States) but take just one minute to appreciate the person MLK was. 🇺🇸 Yesterday my youth group and I watched part of Selma and it dawned on me that I don’t think I have “cared” about MLK day in ..... ever. Like cared about his impact on this country, on the world, not on getting to sleep in another day. I say this bc MLK was a fighter for rights, and that was the only kind of fighter he was. With all the violence and arguing ensuing worldwide, I think it is so important to remember that a man experiencing some of the greatest injustice never once turned to violence. ☮️🌍 One of MLK’s most famous quotes is, “I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear.” I LOVE THIS. The POWER OF YOU! . . I’m so inspired and uplifted today by this community we have! Love, support and lots of fun is pouring out of IG and I’m really so proud to be part of it with all of you! 🥰 . . This cheesy grin was in the gym today after managing hip thrust for the first time.. . . And it had me thinking. I did 10 burpees today as part of the activation of #pwrweek11 legs. 10 burpees in a row! After warm up and after a set of activation already. Let me repeat again: 10 BURPEES IN A FREAKIN ROW like a machine.. and I’m also gonna confess I love burpees now. 🙈 Now if you ever scroll back to my posts from almost 2 years again you could see how it was not case. 🤪Hahaha not even close. Seeing burpees in a workout send a chill down my spine. 15 #bbg burpees had to be done in x5 times 3 burpees with x5 brakes in between and most likely the last few burpees were stepped out not jumped. Just those burpees alone had me #deathbykayla.. never mind the rest of all the circuits. I’m telling you this because you might be feeling deflated and exhausted today because you are unfit, and so we were. . . The only secret is to keep going. Turn those 2 in a row into 4 in a row into 5 in a row and so on and one day burpees will be your activation and you might even like them. Crazy huh? It’s MENTAL! . . Now commadoes are an other story #hatecommandos 🤢 . . . I truly hope you find inspiration here and find the power within you! . . The start or the restart is very hard and the truth is it’s ULTIMATELY DOWN TO YOU to make it. To be the 1 out of 10 who started in January and still works out in March. You can do it! Less ‘blue Monday’, more blue sea please 💙⁣ ⁣ Now I am not sure how much I buy into the whole blue Monday thing...feel like it’s more a marketing tool. However I have coincidentally been having a bit of an off day, but I don’t think January has much to do with it 🙈 That being said I think it’s important to recognise times when we feel low and incorporate long term habits for self care. Whether that be knowing the warning signs of running yourself down, making time for yourself or planning things into your week to look forward to. ⁣ ⁣ While having a holiday booked is always a winner, that is not always budget friendly or might be a long time away...like mine in June, aka another 21 weeks 🤣 So I plan to ensure each week I make time for things that make me happy and feel good. Workouts, brunches and baking are near top of my list 💁‍♀️ But I also plan on a few cultural things like gallery visits and exhibitions - London is full of so many different experiences and I definitely need to make more use of what’s on my door step. EASY 💁🏼‍♀️ wouldn’t it be great if eating healthy was just that, easy?? This recipe can be whipped together super quick, making it a great staple for week day lunches! No sad desk lunch here ❌ just throw together some cooked ramen noodles (I use @lotusfoods), then added some zoodles, shredded carrots, and topped with herbs and crushed nuts. For protein, add some peanut chicken. We just googled a soy/peanut marinade. It’s super delicious and easy to pack in the veggies too!

🔥 Chili con Carne 🔥 Geht immer oder? Vor allem bei den Temperaturen ❄️🥶 . Ich bereite es so zu: 500g Hackfleisch, eine Zwiebel, 2 Knoblauchzehen in einer Pfanne mit etwas Öl anbraten. . Dann 2 EL Tomatenmark hinzugeben und verteilen, anschließend 500ml passierte Tomaten hinzugeben und erhitzen. . Mit Salz, Pfeffer, Paprika edelsüß (ca. 2 Tl), Paprika rosenscharf (1/2 Tl), Oregano (2 Tl), Majoran (1tl) und Schärfe nach Geschmack (Chilipulver, frische Chili o.ä.) Würzen. Dann ein kleines Stück 80%ige Schokolade hinzugeben und erhitzen, bis es geschmolzen ist. . Nun 1 Dose Kidneybohnen (Achtung beim Kauf: bei einigen wird Zucker hinzugegeben) abwaschen und in die Pfanne geben, erhitzen bis alles erwärmt ist. . Ich mische Blumenkohl“Reis“ unter die Masse (Reis grob raspeln, in Salzwasser Vorgarten, Wasser abgießen, fertig) - ihr könnt natürlich auch Konjakreis nehmen oder es pur servieren bzw. TIPS ON GETTING READY FOR VACATION/BIKINI PHOTO SHOOT ⬇️ My answer definitely doesn't involve copious amounts of lettuce or hours of cardio. I actually chose to eat 2 peanut butter sandwiches almost daily! In the past I used to cut calories drastically and add a lot of cardio to my day. Needless to say neither of these things made me happy or was sustainable. When I decided I wanted to do a shoot 6 weeks ago, I knew my approach was going to be different. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Firstly, it had to be realistic because of my birthday, Christmas, New Years, Vegas, our social life and honestly, because my schedule is super hectic. My focus this time was to: 1. prioritize protein at all meals 2. aim to be active with a workout or a quick walk and do a HIIT session 1x a week - I literally didn't add any cardio, I was already doing this. 3. eat slowly and only eat till i'm about 80% full 4. only eat when I'm hungry - sounds obvious but a lot of us eat out of habit or boredom 5. implement intermittent fasting when traveling...when possible (14-15 hours of fasting and then 9-10 hour eating window) 6. not give up any foods. I've literally continued to eat bread at least 4x a week 7. stick to whole foods as much as possible ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I absolutely acknowledge and respect that there are different ways to prepare for something like this. There is nothing wrong with going just as you are!!! I've learned I do best when I prioritize my mental and physical health. No matter what your goal, I always recommend incorporating foods you like that make adhereing to a plan easier. If you aren't reaching your goals the problem is rarely a specific food, and more a general issue of too many, or too few calories. Make sure to think long term and find a healthy and sustainable approach. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Wish me luck on my photoshoot today! Hopefully the photographer will give me lots or things to hold because, what does one do with their hands? 👐 😅 Thankfully my sis @xolovedani_ is coming along to make sure I'm not super awkward. Haven’t had Greek food in forever & currently craving this delicious bowl! If you can’t handle Seitan, salmon, tempeh, & tofu are all super yummy alternatives that taste great with Mediterranean flavor! This bowl literally took 5 minutes to throw together. One of my biggest tips is to prep veggies & proteins at the beginning of the week. You don’t have to spend hours Slaving away in the kitchen. Cut & prepare a couple veggies & a variety of proteins & that’ll already set you in the right direction.
