👟 #mondayrunday 👟 . Today’s miles were fueled by #siriusxmlithium. . How your body feels for a run is always interesting. Yesterday, felt like crap before the run but felt strong during. Today, felt good before & ho-hum during. . But that doesn’t really matter. What does matter is consistently putting in the work & trusting the process. . Right foot is still having discomfort. I keep using the roller ball to loosen it up & asking God for healing. ❄️ #sundayrunday ❄️ . The only workout you regret is the one you didn’t do. . Case in point: I wasn’t feeling 💯 today. Not bad per se, but just not quite right. . It was incredibly beautiful out today. Normally I’d be out the door in a heartbeat. But I took a nap. Then it’s 3:30 & I’m pissed because I’ve missed the day & accomplished nothing. . I knew I’d be even more pissed if I didn’t get some miles, but I had no energy & needed to eat. And it was about 30 degrees with a setting sun. . I even told my husband that I couldn’t get out of my own way. His response: Get your butt outside. . Bundled up, grabbed a bar & out the door I went. It was cold, duh, so thought I’d run a bit to warm up & then just walk to the park & back. The no-energy thing, ya know. I clearly had no intention of running much because I wore a regular bra. Hello. . But a “little run” turned into a four mile interval hill repeat workout since there’s hardly any flat surfaces between my apt & the park. Which I did twice. Really worked on my form, getting a firm foot plant & strong push-off to propel forward with some legit speed. . Would have been nice to get out earlier in the day, but the sunset, snow, and no one else on the sidewalks was very peaceful. All is now right with the world. . And today’s run is dedicated to @adriannehaslet. She can’t run because she’s recovering after being hit by a car. The good news is that the legs have little soreness & the right foot feels decent, although there’s still some discomfort. Progress! . 🤗 #gymselfie 🤗 . Been battling a little bug since Wednesday...and yesterday it finally got me down. 😷 Super mad my workout streak ended at 27 days. . Not so fast, pesky virus. . After copious amounts of Tylenol, echinacea, homeopathic herbs, homemade elderberry syrup, half a box of tissues and rest, I’m a bit more human today. . Hey #fitfriends 😘 long time no see 👀!! I took 5 months off from this account & from working out! I completed a 200 hour yoga teacher training in the fall & now I’m certified to teach!🥳 I finally got back in the gym yesterday & started a 6th round of #BBG. I’m so sore today & those straight leg sit-ups still make me feel pukey. But I was pleasantly surprised that I could still do 15 jump squats & 10 burpees in a row. The first time through anyway haha! #2018miles ✅ . On Jan 9, I made the commitment to participate in Run The Year: 2018 miles in 2018. That’s an average of 5.5 miles per day. . I knew that wasn’t possible from a pure running standpoint for me, but when I learned it uses total Fitbit miles, I thought it was doable. . And it would have been...except life happened. A broken arm, surgery, tooth extraction & six months of plantar fasciitis really set me back. . So while I didn’t achieve the goal, I’m pretty proud of what I was able to accomplish. And I finished the year really strong. . On Dec 15, I hit what I thought was my last milestone at 1500 miles. There’s a great area with space for mats with dumbbells, stability balls, bosu balls, bands, box steps. Created a DIY circuit with influences from #bbg & my trainer at planet fitness. Haven’t sweat that hard in a l.o.n.g. time. 💪 #gymselfie 💪 . Was able to workout at the new rec center. Really nice. Used a different kind of Precor elliptical; the pedals were attached by a strap of sorts. Much more comfortable on my feet, so that’s cool. Then did a combo of weights, dumbbells & body weight work for the upper body. ☀️ #sunshineonmyshoulders ☀️ Temps in the mid-50s, bluebird sky without a cloud, and I’m wearing a tank top for my run. And it’s DECEMBER!!! Swipe for proof. . Wasn’t gonna run for the third day in a row, but the weather was perfect and I was short on time. But got ‘er done. . With the help of gravity (read: downhill), was able to hit a 12:40 mile. A more accurate representation was my second mile, where the terrain was a little flatter with gentle undulations. Hit 13.53, which has been the fastest in the last 10 days. . Averaged 13.35 pace with 167 feet of elevation. Did hit 162 bpm (too high), more than yesterday, but pushed the pace much more than yesterday too. . It’s super fun to be able the feel the strength come back during each run. 🏔👟 #hoka 👟🏔 . Dusty Shoes = Happy 💗. . Didn’t have much time today, but was able to get up the hill for a quick loop. Basically the same as yesterday, but 17 seconds per mile avg slower. . The un-rushed pace kept my heart rate much more reasonable. Hit 164 bpm during the run section yesterday; today’s max was 153. . Since I slowed a bit, was able to concentrate on form, good foot strike & push off, no tension in the shoulders, tried to stay relaxed, better breathing. . Today was about the quality. And I am running more distance before requiring a walk break. 🦌 #sundayrunday 🦌 . You read that right. Run day. Today is the first day I’ve felt like myself since June. Only minor discomfort in the right foot. . . I’m not ready to shout “I’m Back” from the mountain top because of the unpredictability of my feet, but perhaps a whisper. . Totally forgot about my reflexology appt today until I got a reminder text. Whew! But that left me little time to get up on the hill. . . Guess the time crunch helped, because I did the mile hike up (370 feet elevation) in 17.49 (last time was 22 min). Really stepped it out, heart rate got up to 170. Damn. That’s what happens when ya lose all fitness! . Didn’t have time to rest because I had to get to my appt; was able to walk/run a 13:50 mile over uneven terrain. An improvement from the 13.59 I did on sidewalks a week ago. Yeah! #progress . . As I finished the Basalt Loop, saw this pretty girl with the Denver skyline in the background. Sums up why I love where we live. #mountaintime ⛰ The last time I hiked was Oct 13. Before that was July 12. To say the last five months have sucked would be quite the understatement. . Is my foot pain 100% gone? No. But it’s night and day from what it was. Now it’s more of a discomfort. . I did have a pain increase after I ran Saturday. Expected that and was ok with it. Thankfully it was mostly resolved by Monday. . . The good news about today’s hike is that so far I haven’t experienced any post workout pain like in the past. And that’s with elevation gain. So that’s good news. . Curious on what we do on rest days? I’ll let ya in on a little secret. We do three things, and they help us CRUSH our weekly workouts. 1) We STRETCH. Stretching and myofascial release should be a part of your daily deal, but we spend a loooong time stretching and releasing our muscles on rest days. Extra points if you take a warm bath or steamy shower before, cuz it’s majorly soothing and will increase your flexibility a ton. 2) We HYDRATE. Our usual workouts dehydrate our bodies way more than you realize. So we chug water like whoa to ease our muscles, give us more energy, and boost our brainpower. 3) We engage in some much-needed TLC. I mean, who doesn’t love a classy massage or relaxing walk through the mountains, right?! 😴So enjoy your next rest day to the max. Because, while we push you hard during the week, you deserve a little down time, too. (You’re welcome.)

☀️ #parktime ☀️ So a lot can happen in six weeks. Or nothing can. For me, it’s the latter. . This is my first walk/run in six weeks. My right foot still has pain, but for today, I didn’t care. The mental misery I’ve been facing was far worse than an achey appendage. So I got my arse outside & was all the happier for it. . I understand why people say they hate running. The first breaths of cold air burned my lungs. My legs were heavy. 100 yards was about all I could “run,” and by run I mean the slowest back-of-the-pack turtle trot you’ve ever seen. But that’s not the point. . The point is to get moving. Losing ALL fitness sucks. Immensely. But it’s never getting better until I put in the work. . Eased back in with a little 5k, and was super stoked to negative split. When I’m running decent, I’m a 12-minute miler. 11 minute on a great day. That’s not today (and that’s ok). . Mile 1: 15.13. Mile 2: 14.52. Mile 3: 13.59. . Yes, that’s beyond slow when compared to elites running 5-minute miles. But I’m putting my slow-ass time out here publicly so that those who may be afraid to run because they’re slow will know they’re not alone. . In truth, I prob walked half & jogged half. For mile three, I just wanted to get out of the 14s and into the 13s. #BBGPWRCREW 🏋🏻‍♀️ . Day ☝🏼of no slack December for me. I don’t have the PWR app, but my gf at work does. So my days are switched to accommodate the days I can go to the gym with her. Today I did upper body (back and shoulders). It’s definitely longer than BBG and it took me a bit to get used to the back and forth flow of using weights, then going over to the mat area of the gym. Not 100% sure I’m in love with it...but I’m gonna give it a try the whole month! 👍🏼 . Huge thanks to @whitlayne for putting this together. Hoping it gets me moving this month 😊 I will say it made me a little sad when I saw this pic...to see my arm with such little muscle 😕 but that only lasted a minute. Then I saw my dbl chin. Almost didn’t want to post this bc of that. But who the hell is zooming in to see it? If you are...stop ya weirdo 🤪

Just feeling like not working out. Feeling clothes get tighter as my stomach gets softer. I’m not totally against this phase, it’s clearly a pattern for me, but I should MOVE MY BODY somewhat. Bc true story, lately I’m out of breath going up and down the stairs in my house 😳😬 . Worst case scenario I work out twice a week and watch everyone else kill it 🤣 So I’m in for trying this. Your lack of sleep is giving you bags under your eyes (the worst!), throwing your hormones that control hunger out of balance, making you crave foods that are rich in fat and carbohydrates, giving you a shit ton of snack attacks, and giving you more signs of aging including reduced elasticity of the skin, fine lines and uneven pigmentation. AND, to really be a buzz kill, your lack of sleep is even leading to a decreased interest in getting freaky between the sheets. WHAT?! 😴So hurry up and get those zzzz’s so that you can wake up all fresh like a daisy or whatever. (Otherwise you’re gonna feel like this little dude. And no one wants that.)

🍟 #friyay 🍟 So my goal this week was to workout 30 minutes each day. I got Sunday & Monday...then 💩. . It’s this whole work & meal prep thing that takes up my entire day. . . Tuesday, I did have an hour with my reflexologist, so I was ok not working out. Wednesday I was just swamped with work. Thursday I had grand plans, but I started feeling bad mid-lunch. Something was off & I got a terrible tummy ache. Was done for the day. . Guys!!! 👋🏼 I went in for my body fat test again last night & I’ve lost 2% in the past 3 months!! 😱 This is the lowest I’ve been since I started doing these tests about a year & a half ago 👯‍♀️ I’m SO thrilled. I switched my diet to high carb/low fat & clearly, my body agrees! Blood work came back fantastic a few weeks ago too 👌🏼 Feeling great 🤗 Em & I got in a great leg workout this morning & we’re ready to finish out this week strong! 💪🏼

👯‍♀️ Had ZERO fun this weekend obviously 🥂 . . Okay probably tooooo much fun (if there is such a thing 🤷🏻‍♀️) but I am pretty positive we could be hanging at a rest stop in the middle of nowhere and STILL have a good time... because these three right here, ARE the good in the time 🥂 . . While my wine glass may now be empty... my heart and soul remains full after a weekend loving on and being loved on by these babes. Such a BLAST spending the weekend envisioning where we will be in a year and dreaming of a future that WE have the fortune to create TOGETHER 👯‍♀️ . . Glad I said YES to something that scared me... to jumping on the phone with the girl on the left... to teaming up with my BOSS of a biz partner... and to working HARD in order to earn a weekend of play 🍷 But MOSTLY glad I had the chance to just meet these inspiring women (that I otherwise wouldn’t have met if it weren’t for this virtual biz 👩🏻‍💻) and whom I now get to call my FRIENDS. ❄️ #sundaysnowday ❄️ So it’s been a minute since my last workout. 😳 A month ago, I strained my Achilles during a BBG workout. Didn’t seem serious, just a little discomfort. . Did several workouts after, including a couple walks without problems. . But a week later during a walk, it got progressively painful & I almost couldn’t walk all the way home. Since then, I’ve done all the rest, ice, PT, etc. . . About 3 weeks later, things were improving. Then I injured it again, this time in a rush to move the cat off the carpet & onto the tile before he barfed. The strain burned like crazy when it happened, which didn’t happen with the initial injury. Immediately iced, etc, etc. . So here I am, still hobbling & unable to walk correctly. Needless to say, I’ve been super bummed...& the lack of workouts shows it. The only good news is the plantar fasciitis that started in June has finally healed. Only took 4 months. . . Forced myself to do an easy workout on this snowy Sunday; dumbbells for upper body + squats & hip work for lower. Finished with a good stretch. . Goal for this week is at least something for 30 minutes every day.
