Made some healthy banana breakfast muffins last night & they are yum! 😍 Recipe below if anyone wants to give them a try! P.s. it’s almost the weekend! . . • 3 bananas, 1 ½ cups of spelt/wholewheat flour, ¼ cup of honey, ½ cup of low fat Greek yoghurt, 1 egg, 1 tsp of vanilla essence, 1 tsp of baking soda & a handful of dairy free chocolate chips. I added a handful of blueberries & a scoop of protein too!

How good is a gym partner?! 👯‍♀️ I’m one lucky sister to have this one! @jesss.ng never fails to point out my faults and steal my clothes even before I get to wear them first but I wouldn’t change it for the world 🌎 While these stretches are repetitive for every leg and full body BBG workout in the #sweatapp I have only ever missed one warm down stretch. The warm down has really helped my body recover a lot quicker. My legs are feeeeling yesterday’s workout 🏋🏻‍♀️ and I can’t imagine how sore I would be right now without this stretch! 🤸🏻‍♀️

Goodmorning lovelies 🌸 Todays post is a bit of real talk- I want to try and be as real with you guys on this account as possible. I may look like I have it all together, but I too still have my moments where I struggle. Lately I have been experiencing mild symptoms of anxiety. Mainly because of various uncertainties of the year, lack of sleep and also just because I have been abnormally busy and have had very little time to myself where I can centre my thoughts. Yesterday morning during my workout I experienced anxiety for no reason whatsoever. I felt as if I could not complete my workout and felt that my breathing was heavy. I even stopped the timer and started to walk out the gym. As I was walking out I thought to myself... “how many times have you thought you could not complete something but still pushed through” It was at this moment where I had a revelation. Only you can make decisions and take control of your thoughts and life. I turned around and continued my workout ignoring that anxious voice that attempted to derail me. Before I knew it I was done with the workout and all anxiety had subsided. If you are someone who struggles with anxiety, you are not alone. It’s something that you can’t quiet explain and comes out of no-where. It’s okay, I get you. I can relate. What matters most is addressing the situation, and believing in yourself. You have to listen to that little voice and be your own cheerleader 📣 if this is not possible, I find speaking to someone or rationalizing your thoughts to another person always helps 🌟 You are in charge of your thoughts, don’t let them control you 💫

Talk about DOMS today! My chest and arms are SO sore following Arms & Abs yesterday so it was a no brainer to take a rest day today (minus LISS of course) and let my muscles repair a touch more before Full Body tomorrow. I always find it so funny how no matter how fit or in shape you are, as soon as you significantly change your training style or even just the exercises within your routine, your body always lets you know and brings back the DOMS which you might not have felt for weeks, or even months. Just goes to show how effective a switch up in our training can be every now and then 👌💙. So rather than feeling frustrated that you might not be performing as well, or that you perhaps need to take an extra rest day to recover, embrace the change and know that even while it might feel like your going through a setback, you’re actually growing and progressing so just keep pushing!

I’ve never found X-Jumps to be particularly challenging... until the last set today. 🤨 Makes me a bit apprehensive about my ability to walk normally tomorrow. Stay tuned for a pain update. One of my favorite, super easy dinners! Mexican quinoa 👉🏼 I sautéed one bell pepper, half a purple onion and garlic in avo oil then added black beans, fire roasted salsa style tomatoes and corn (1 can each) and about 2 cups of cooked quinoa (I like to cook mine in veggie or chicken stock for some flavor) and that’s it! I like to add a little salsa and eat it with tortilla chips but it’s good with just a spoon too! What are your favorite easy meals? Not going to lie, I was crooked and hated the arms & abs workout today. 😢 I had a hard time with the mountain climbers, and the straight sit up things. I almost cried I was that frustrated with myself. 😐 But then I just did what I could, and done some different ab workouts that I found online to supplement. 🤷🏻‍♀️ That’s what I’ll do for now, if I think there’s an exercise that might be tough, I’ll have some variations ready. 🎯 I thankfully felt not as pissed off afterwards! Arms and abs were absolutely brutal for me...I’ve always stuck with cardio and legs in the past so working muscles groups that I hadn’t touched in ages was really tough. There were times when I wanted to give up and it felt like my muscles were giving up on me but I pushed through! I was feeling very tight after yesterday’s #bbgstronger workout but I dragged my 🍑 to #vinyasa tonight thinking the stretching would do me good. I’m glad I went but now I’m jello. It ended up being 90 minutes of circuits more than actual stretching. I usually love those kind of classes but today I was like can we lay on the floor yet? When do we get to lay on the floor? But of course that’s all part of the practice. I made it back to the gym... WITH my phone this time! . . Not gonna lie ladies, I am REALLY confused with the app. I thought I'm supposed to do 4 total laps (2 from circuit 1, and 2 from circuit 2) and then the workout is over. . . . However I did 2 laps of circuit 1, then 2 laps of circuit 2, and it brought me back to the beginning. I did another 2 laps of circuit 1 (really this is #3 and #4 but the app still says lap 1 and lap 2) and I did another 2 laps of circuit 2. . . After 8 total laps, I'm brought to cool down. . . You can’t tell, but I’M POOPED. Completed Full Body, but it was a struggle! ___ For Commando and Lay Down Pressup, I did as many as I could properly, then had to drop to my knees to complete the set. I also found that my form for the Bent Over Row needs work - I was getting lower back pain, which doesn’t seem right! I adjusted a few times throughout the set, but couldn’t quite get it right. ___ I allowed myself more time to get through the exercises with good form, rather than rushing through just to get lots of laps in. Definitely feels better knowing that I’m targeting the right muscles! 💪🏼

How things have changed. Back in the day I would be so stoked to see weight loss while I was sick, then go into a total shame spiral when I put the weight back on once I was better. But I now understand that this is only from dehydration/starvation and it just won't last once I'm healthy again. On the plus side the gp says it's no more than a bad cold, so I've just gotta keep resting up. I really can't wait to get my appetite and energy back so I can start eating well and working out again. Training five days a week atm and loving it. Feeling very motivated right now so trying to enjoy as there will always be times when I’m not. At most I was training 3 days a week before. Mostly twice and often not at all. I’ve got a number of very important, extremely difficult exams this year. When studying starts (very soon for one of them) my training always reduces and it stops completely in the immediate lead-up. I find my anxiety doesn’t allow me to enjoy going and I don’t have the mental energy for it so doing what I can while I can. Maybe I can get in some home workouts this year? I dunno, I just want to make this year more dedicated and committed even despite life and depression/anxiety interfering when it does.
