👋🏼👋🏼👋🏼 Sorry for being MIA but I’m actually happy doing things I like ☺️ but unfortunately I haven’t been eating properly of training enough this past few weeks so I’m starting over this week hitting my macros and going to the gym at least 4 times per week (aiming for 5 actually: 3 booty sessions + 2 upper body sessions). Today was day 2 so upper body day and I did: - bench press - barbell row - seated overhead db press - Cable lat pull downs - DB lateral raise - cable tricep extensions - Cable curls Arms = jelly 😱 ———————- 👋🏼👋🏼👋🏼👋🏼👋🏼👋🏼 Holaaaa! Siento haber estado inactiva pero al menos he estado feliz haciendo cosas que me gustan ☺️ peeero no he estado comiendo bien ni yendo al gimnasio tanto como debería así que he decidido empezar esta semana de nuevo a alcanzar mis macros e ir al gimnasio al menos 4 veces por semana (la meta son 5: 3 días para glúteos y 2 para tren superior). Weight loss and the SCALE🤗 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I have said this 100000 times, but unless you have a significant amount of body fat to lose, the scale is really NOT my first choice when it comes to tracking or measuring my progress🙅‍♀️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The picture on the left was me right at the beginning of my journey, and my weight stayed exactly the same on the scale. The picture on the right was taken after i started working out and making healthier choices, and although i weighed exactly the same as when i had started, i could really SEE that i didn’t look and feel the same🤸‍♂️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Don’t ever let the scale demotivate you or make you feel as if you are making little to no effort, despite all your hard work. Had i have used the scale to track my progress, i would have stopped and given up long ago because my weight stayed the same throughout these two photos. The scale is unreliable, and depends on so many factors such as time of the day, time of the month, how much food you have eaten etc.🍟❤️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Instead i like to measure my progress through how i am FEELING. Through my energy levels, confidence and my strength levels at the gym. Progress pictures are also a great tool for a visual representation.💁‍♀️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So ladies, don’t ever feel demotivated because of the number on the scale. Progress is about so much more than a few numbers on a machine!😚

Update going into to week 4 of #bbg! I am feeling stronger and stronger each day, and am so happy with the muscle definition I’m seeing! Although I’ve been eating healthier as you’ve seen in my stories, I definitely need to crack down on my carb and sugar consumption. My skin is breaking out and I feel so like groggy all the time. • • SO. The next 2 weeks I’m not going over 30g of sugar, and my carb consumption will consist primarily of veggies and fruits, and especially fiber. • • Normally I would go against doing a low carb diet because it’s not good to pair with high intensity workouts or long-term. BUT I need to get back in check with healthy eating, so I will still be doing bbg, but putting a hold on hiit until I’m back on higher carbs. ✌️

Guys, I should’ve started week 12 of #bbg today. But instead, I started week 1 again. The exercises at the end were hard on my ankles, and I felt myself getting frustrated and wanting to give up because I couldn’t get through or even do certain exercises. So, I decided to go back to the beginning, and I am so glad I did. I felt like I worked harder in the same 28 minutes than I have in the past month. I know certain weeks will still be a struggle and that when I get to the end it’s still not going to come easily. But, I think having more of a foundation and building up my confidence is what’s most important right now. For me, so much of living a healthy lifestyle is determined by how motivated and dedicated I am. No part of eating healthy or exercising comes naturally to me. I’m proud to be back at #week1. Week 12, I’m coming for you.

Even though I have done this program on and off for years, fully finished BBG round one once, and completed eight or so weeks of BBG stronger earlier this year, it only took two months to fall off the workout wagon. This is tough. Burpees?? When was the last time I did those?? I now have a gym within two minutes from where I live so I am going all out. Fresh start! HELLO my loves! Had a killer sesh at the gym today thanks to @gracefituk and her @gracefitguide 😍💪🏻 smashed legs for my first sesh of the week 🦑 . Hoping to get in at least 4 workouts in this week with it being a double hit on wednesday (booty after uni and Zumba at 8 😍) . I’ve had a snack (@myproteinuk bakes double chocolate cookie 😍) and now off to have a shower, hang some of my clothes up and do some reading ready for my first day of lectures tomorrow 💪🏻

Who else here loves FRENCH FRIES? 🍟 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Coming at you with one of my favorite hacks 🤗 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Believe it or not, I absolutely love potato fries 🥔 potatoes have multiple health benefits such as being high in fiber and vitamins! The reason why potatoes get such a bad rep for health and weight loss, is mainly owing to the fact that they are often mixed with butter, deep fried or other factors that bump up the calorie content and strip it from its health benefits. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ On the left we have deep fried French fries, which has trans fats, high in fats and sodium! Not only that, but it bumps up the calorie content and makes them extremely caloric! 🙅‍♀️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ On the right, we have freshly cut potatoes ( you can see by how uneven they are 😂). I usually leave the skin on because of it’s fiber boost ( but I used the peels for a potatoe skin salad instead 😜) ! I cut and freeze potatoes, and place it in the oven/ or air fryer on high until nice and crispy. If you like, you can drizzle a teaspoon or so of avocado oil over if you would like it to be extra crispy. I top mine with sea salt, some onion powder and chili flakes 🤗

Chocolate chip pumpkin bread! 🎃🍫 Happy Monday! I hope you all had a lovely weekend! 🤗 Starting off the week with a slice of this loaf 👆🏼 and a cup of @ethicalbean ☕️😊 Fall is officially here, and yesterday I bought my first few cans of pumpkin purée for the season. 👏🏼 This recipe is vegan, gluten free, and refined sugar free. The loaf turned out super moist, flavorful, and has the perfect amount of sweetness. 👍🏻 Ingredients: 1 cup pumpkin purée 1/3 cup melted coconut oil 1/3 cup @sunfood coconut sugar 1 flax egg 3 tbsp @malkorganics almond milk 1 3/4 cup @bobsredmill gluten free flour 3/4 cup almond meal (I ground up @sunfood almonds in my @blendtec to make almond meal) 1 tsp @simplyorganicfoods vanilla extract 1 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp baking powder 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon 3 tsp pumpkin pie spice 1/4 tsp salt 1/3 cup @enjoylifefoods dark chocolate chips 1/4 cup @sunfood pumpkin seeds Mix together pumpkin, sugar, oil, vanilla, almond milk, and flax egg. Add flour, almond meal, baking powder and soda, cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, and salt. Mix well, then stir in chocolate chips. Pour in a parchment lined loaf pan, and top with pumpkin seeds and more chocolate chips. Bake at 350 for about 50-55 minutes. 😊 Happy fall! 🍂🎃🍁

Starting over...again. *Warning that I rambled a bit of my thoughts on this one😉* 🤸🏼‍♂️ For the fifth time I’m restarting the #BBG program because it gives me a schedule, a set workout I’m done with in 30 mins and I notice a TRANSFORMATION. It works for me. 🏋🏼‍♀️ As a high schooler I remember freaking out if I went over a size zero. In college when I quit dancing (If you know of a studio in #NC near me lemme know!) I was introduced to weightlifting. I LOVED feeling strong because it’s something I never realized I could do. 🧘🏼‍♀️ Over the last few years I’ve been consistent with workouts and a pretty clean diet but I love to have a beer and some bread every week. Oh, sh**, right? 🍾 I’ve prepped for a bikini show, I’ve ran the Tough Mudders and races, I’ve summited mountains, I’ve always worked after a goal to motivate me and it’s challenging to put in the work when there’s not an end goal. I’ve had a few changes in recent months that I’ve noticed but mostly in my face. Just the one thing that EVERYONE sees. And it put me in a weird slump life-wise; not just about my physical appearance. There’s a lot you can’t control in life; especially this one. I CAN control making my body the most strong and healthy I can because it’s. capable. of. it. peach work 🍑 The workout consists of 2 circuits: __________________________________________ ▪️circuit one: - jump lunge, squat, lunge - donkey kicks - burpee with plank walks - crab walks . __________________________________________ ▪️circuit two: - kettle bell swings - glute bridge - kettle bell sumo squats - clams __________________________________________ Set your timer for 20 secs on and 10 secs off. Repeat each circuit 3-4 times! Enjoy (ps - with single leg exercises, switch legs half way throughout the time) . STOP CARING ABOUT OTHER PEOPLE’S OPINIONS⁣ ❌ ⁣ When I first started working out, a lot of people were judging me. Some were saying ‘wow, do you have time for that?’. I would always answer with ‘well, I make time for it. If I am not working out, I am sleeping all the time because I don’t have any energy. That’s why I am actually gaining time when working out.’. I felt the need to explain myself because then, people would maybe understand. Most of them still didn’t. I think they didn’t even try. ⁣ ⁣ The same thing happened but with different things. When I was eating a piece of cake with family, some of my family members were saying ‘can you eat that? That is cheating, right?’. I didn’t even try to explain myself in that moment because I knew they were just saying it to laugh at me.⁣ ⁣ When I first started following meal plans, my boyfriend was not happy about it. I couldn’t eat what he was eating and he thought I was being ridiculous.⁣ ⁣ I can’t say that I didn’t care about what all these people were saying but what I can say, is that I never stopped because of it. I knew the reasons why I was doing it and other’s opinions wouldn’t stop me from reaching my goals. I kept pushing through and I knew that it would all be worth it in the end.⁣ ⁣ I am so happy I didn’t stop because now, people are not laughing anymore. A lot of them are admiring me for what I do. Some people even ask me to help them. My boyfriend is now eating healthy with me, my brothers are asking me for help, my mom is jealous of all the healthy things I am baking and she always want to taste what I made…⁣ ⁣ Moral of the story: don’t ever let opinions of others bring you down or stop you from doing what you want. You are doing this for you and nobody can stop you.⁣ ⁣ Are you being judged by others? Do you let it get to you? 💕 #balancedfitstudent

Some days you just need a Beer Stein sized glass of tea to powder you through meal prep 🍺⚡️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ As much as I preach eating the rainbow, this week I was in the mood for good ol’ meat and taters. This week’s menu: homemade granola, chickpea guilt free edible cookie dough, & sriracha Meatballs with green beans and mashed potatoes. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I know I promised a recipe for edible cookie dough but I’m still working on formulating perfection— I’m a cookie dough snob and I’m okay with that. 💁🏼‍♀️ In the meantime you can satisfy that sweet tooth with this amazing granola recipe. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ MAPLE ALMOND GRANOLA 2 cups large flake oats (or rolled oats) 1 cup sliced almonds 1/2 cup pure maple syrup 1/4 cup melted coconut oil 1/2 tablespoon vanilla extract 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon salt ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Mix ingredients together and spread out onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. And dinner is served 😍 . Hello my loves how is everyone?! It is the first day of autumn today 🍂 and because it is I treated myself to a #psl but only a small one cause it’s basics a cup of sugar 😂 anyway, I’ve made a promise to myself to start cooking actual meals, rather then just popping everything in the oven and cooking it 🙄 (which is totes fine but every night I have the same things or different variations and it’s starting to get boring) so seeing as it’s getting colder and I had lentils left I wanted to make something warming but different.....here came curried lentils 😍 and I have to say they are hella good! Pictured here on a bed of spinach with avocado 🥑 a soft boiled egg, and some roasted cauliflower and broccoli 😍 DAMN is this good 😍 having left overs for lunch today 🥙 and I still have some in the fridge 😍 thinking of putting it on top of cinnamon roasted sweet potatoes with some chicken 😍 what do you guys love to cook when you have that extra bit of time? Just stopping by. Saying hi. My life is crazy right now. I’m taking 17 hours of classes this semester, I’m teach 4 yoga classes an 3 meditation classes every week. I buss tables on weekends. You could say I’m pretty busy. I’ve been accepted into my study abroad program, so adding on to all my studies and work, I’m having to get a bunch of information together so I can go to Australia in December for 5 months. Honestly don’t even have time for my self, I’m following a strict hour by hour schedule and it’s just enough for me to get 5 hours of sleep every night. Anyways have a lovely rest of your week ((:

Happy Saturday everyone! 😊 Throwing it back to my breakfast yesterday morning because it was freaking AMAZING and WAY better than anything I could try to make this morning after going out and being up WAY past my bed time last night 😂 All this is is 1 pack of instant oatmeal made with water, and topped with a handful of walnuts, 1 banana, 1 spoonful of @smartbalance peanut butter, a small handful of dark chocolate chips, and a cup of green tea on the side! Very, very simple - the filter just makes it look super aesthetically pleasing I guess 😂 And who doesn’t like a little chocolate for breakfast?! Dark chocolate actually has a LOT of health benefits! Which is why I’m not afraid to throw a little on my oats or have a little as a night time snack sometimes 😋🍫 It is full of good antioxidants and minerals that can improve your blood flow, brain function and heart health, it can lower your blood pressure, and it can also reduce stress and anxiety! Not gonna lie, Friday nights are my favorite time to workout. I’m so cool, I know 🙈 Despite having a rough week with being sick, I still managed to finish 2 #bbgstronger resistance workouts and 1 LISS 👊 Deciding whether or not to workout when being sick is a tough one. I took many rest days this week when I knew my body could not handle any physical activity. However, there were a few days when I felt well and wanted to sweat a bit, so I did. I definitely took it easy during my workouts and did not do anything too strenuous. Thankfully the circuits this week had exercises I really like which made them more management to get through. I also decreased my weights a bit and went at a slower pace. It’s all about listening to your body and doing what feels right! I’m definitely still sick, but it seems like I’m on the tail end of this cold. Here’s hoping I can kick this thing for good this weekend 👊

Last day of strength exercises for the week and I am feeling PUMPED 🙌🏻 Full body is by far my favorite day of the week because my body doesn’t get as tired as quickly. It’s the day that I try to start phasing out modifications I’ve been doing for exercises (today for burpees and push-ups), and it always leaves me feelin like superwoman 🏃🏼‍♀️💅🏻 • I was thinking during my workout today that this is the longest I’ve gone doing a program consistently in a VERY long time (if you consider bbg pretraining it’s been 5 weeks and I haven’t missed a workout!) 😎💪🏻 I’m super proud of myself for doing this, especially since this has been a particularly tough time in my life. I don’t think a past version of myself would have had enough self respect to make sure she was getting in some movement everyday, and I’m so glad that’s changed for me now 💕 • If you haven’t already, go sweat today! STOP THINKING ABOUT THE FUTURE ❌ ▫️ I think planning is super important and I love setting new goals, but something a lot of people forget (including me) is to live in the moment and to be happy with what you have right now. ▫️ For example, I am constantly saying to myself 'I will be happy when I graduate'. I am so focused on graduation that I don't enjoy being a student. I think some people like being a student more than others but why not make the best of it? Why not enjoy being able to plan your own days? Why not enjoy learning new things? Why not enjoy working with other students? ▫️ When I will graduate, it will be something else that's on my mind. Maybe I will say things like 'I will be happy when I find my dream job' or 'I will be happy when I make promotion'... If you keep thinking about what's next, you will never enjoy where you are right now. ▫️ I think we can't live only for the future. We should enjoy the process and our life and be grateful for what we have right now. Life always has it's ups and downs but you can be so much happier when you try to see things in a different way. Stop worrying all the time about what's next. It's ok go have goals and plans, but you are where you are, try to enjoy it! ▫️ Are you thinking about the future every day? 💕 #balancedfitstudent

Scrambled eggs with @redmondrealsalt and @traderjoes sprouted wheat berry toast with fruit salsa. ••• Fruit Salsa Recipe 16 oz carton strawberries, diced 3 kiwis, diced 2 Granny Smith apples, diced 12 oz package frozen raspberries, thawed Zest and juice from one orange 3 tbsp fruit preserves (I used strawberry) • Throw it all in a bowl and stir to combine.
