REAL TALK: “It’s okay not to have your shit together.” - Something that has been on my mind recently and I felt the need to discuss it. Having our shit together is just an illusion we perpetually seek to achieve, and one we mindlessly promote on our social media accounts. But believing we have got it all figured out visually impairs us to all the ways in which we don’t. There are always things to work on, lessons to learn and places to grow.
Quite a few of us try to appear perfect because we’ve been raised to believe that it’s only by doing so that we are deserving of love. We think that we have to be good in order to feel adequate enough. However, we wind up neglecting who we what to be or in other words who we’re not.
All and all it’s easy to be aware of the success of everyone else, but we must remember that success and perfection are not the same. You can succeed without having everything together; in fact, I would argue that the most successful people are those who know how possess the awareness to recognise.
