Breaking The Waves, Double India Pale Ale 10% EvilTwin Brewing Brooklyn NY USA brewed and bottled at Dorchester Brewing Company Boston MA USA.
2nd beer i tasted that EvilTwin has brewed in Boston at the Dorchester brewery.
For me this another story though than "Soul Made" which was released at the same time and which i reviewed a couple of days ago and rated 4*
Breaking The Waves was brewed using lactose and to be honest the lactose spoild the fun a bit for me.
It all starts good, the hops seem to run freely and do their thing, but... towards the finish i tasted a milky lactose sweetness that looked like it was cutting back the fruity notes of the hops in the finish.
Still.. it's a good beer, but not as good as Soul Made was.
Okay the lactose sure did something to the beers mouthfeel i guess, but that milky sweetness in the finish didn't work for me.
Anyway.. can't win them all right?
And a lot of people rate it a lot higher than me.
