Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS) Imperial Stout 11.7% Founders Brewing Co Grand Rapids MI USA.
Shared by Lianne last friday, she even took 2 bottles of CBS with her, so we all good have the best possible taste.
Is CBS a hype at this moment? I guess so.. when you see so many posting it are on the hunt for it i guess it is. Mainly created because it's earlier release was quite a rare puppy, the same seemed to happen again in the US, but than the Netherlands... first a big company owned webshop called it their exclusive, but if you look good it's now to be found all over the country.
CBS is Founders maple version of their famous KBS.
So a imperial stout brewed with a blind of coffee's, imported chocolates and than the beer got aged on spent bourbon barrels that most recently had been used for the aging of pure Michigan maple syrup.
The beer got a nice full body and a creamy mouthfeel.
I don't know why but somehow i expected the maple flavor to be more present in this beer, but it's not a maple syrup bomb though. Maybe also better cause this beer is better in balance than a lot of other beers with maple i tasted.
Beside the hints of maple i tasted a full load of chocolate, coffee and i even had the idea i still tasted some bourbon as well.
Nice well balanced beer, and with the hype surrouding it i guess one not to miss.
