After the 7 day 25 carbs or less challenge I went from 176 September 16. And today at 168 lbs Total lost: 8 lbs ( I’m 5’8 1/2 and yes I weigh more than 150 lol ) For this diet I did not go to the gym and limited my self to 25 carbs a day. I also lowered my protein intake fro 120to 80-90 Waist measurements went from 28 inches to 26. This is proof that low carb/ keto diets work. I went camping with my #bff over the weekend and I definitely needed the break. While we definitely indulged in some cocktails, we also got our steps in (as you can see on the third pic) and I burned a CRAP TON of calories. Camping, dancing, and chair time are a lot of work!! Surprisingly enough, I even maintained my weight loss from last week, which never happens on vacation. Pretty jazzed right now!

#motivationmonday I went through life thinking motivation was a mass of energy that would appear and save me when I least expected it. All of the poor choices I made were justified because until I found that motivation to start… to keep going… to be strong… everything I wanted was somehow out of my control. Believing in this personified courage allowed me to cover up my fear and insecurities with excuses... instead of making choices to test my own strength. When I began this journey I wasn’t driven by motivation. I was lost and I was terrified of failure. I woke up on day one and I cleared my head and listened to the tiny voice inside of me. She didn’t know how to solve all of my problems… She had no motivational quotes or words of wisdom… She only knew the answers to the questions as they came. Sometimes I forgot to listen to her…In the beginning I often allowed her voice be drowned out by all of the noise around me. But every time I made the choice to follow her direction I felt stronger. The good choices outweighed the bad… the times I fell off and ended up at the bottom of a bag of fast food became fewer and further between. And then one day… I paused and I reflected… and I found it. There it was… courage personified… my motivation. I waited for it my entire life and never knew it was within me all along. Regran from @ketoqueens_ - Best post EVER from @nobunplease This comes up a lot. Despite what the latest "keto coach" sold and told you, foods are not inherently keto and non-keto. Ketosis is a metabolic state reached when your body runs out of excess glycogen stores and then starts burning fat for fuel. If you keep your carbohydrates under 20g per day, you are essentially ensuring that your body isn't storing glycogen and stays in a state of ketosis. Whether that 20g comes from a big ass salad, a small portion of sweet potatoes, or a coffee with a bit of added sugar, your body will still maintain a state of ketosis. Now, that's not to say that this is the best way to follow Keto. You'll quickly ask yourself... "Hey... Is it worth blowing my daily carb allotment on this...?" Sometimes it totally is. That negligible amount of sugar in your bacon (the package even says 0g carbs) is not going to kick you out of ketosis. That trace amount of potato starch in your shredded cheese is not going to kick you of ketosis. The wheat flour in your salad dressing isn't going to kick you out of ketosis. Is it annoying that they're there and it cuts into your daily carb allotment? Yep, sure is. But you can still maintain a state of ketosis just fine with them. There's a lot of pretentious dogma that often comes with Keto. It's like, if you aren't eating 100% totally clean and perfect, you're wasting your time or following everything wrong. That's not the case. We all come from different walks of life... with different food options... and different food budgets. Make it work for you. It doesn't have to be perfect. Over time, you'll discover ways to optimize and make it work best for you. Careful with some of those coaches too. Don't get sucked into the pyramid scheme that is exogenous ketones. Your body can make ketones all on its own. Sorry, but if your "business" is made by captilizing on newbies and the naive, shame on you. Very pleased with my results the road was long and harsh but at the end, I made it. I stuck to it no matter how difficult it became. Stick with your goal. Will I ever get used to snapping a picture and just posting it? Guys, I got REALLY good at editing the ever-loving crap out of my photos over the past couple years. It doesn’t even phase me that the first thing I do before even considering Instagram or Facebook is bring it up in one of my (multiple) editing apps. I used them to get rid of acne, to enhance my make up, to make me look thinner, to make my hair look lighter, my teeth look whiter, my eyes look brighter...the list goes on and on. I wouldn’t have imagined myself one day taking a photo of myself in some tight workout pants and a sports bra and publishing it for the world to see, but here I am, massively on the out skirts of my comfort zone, doing it for the sake of transparency. Even in taking this shot I had to remind myself multiple times to quit “sucking it in” and quit trying to use my free arm to cover some of my body, as I’ve always been so used to doing. There is something oddly liberating about this, because despite having taken none of the measures I ordinarily take to ensure I will like a photo of myself (like altering it beyond recognition), I like the way I look anyways. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Who knew? . . . On a side note, I spent this weekend eating a lot of really-good-tasting but really-bad-for-me foods, so I’ve weighed in at 210 the past couple days. A little disappointing because I was really hoping to hit #onederland before October for my #90daychallenge, but I still wouldn’t change anything. I had a lot of wonderful one on one time with my SO and an incredibly fun girls night. Even though the scale doesn’t think so, I call this weekend a success! I am feeling happy and balanced, but most of all motivated to kick this week into high gear. Happy #motivationmonday everyone!

Best post EVER from @nobunplease This comes up a lot. Despite what the latest "keto coach" sold and told you, foods are not inherently keto and non-keto. Ketosis is a metabolic state reached when your body runs out of excess glycogen stores and then starts burning fat for fuel. If you keep your carbohydrates under 20g per day, you are essentially ensuring that your body isn't storing glycogen and stays in a state of ketosis. Whether that 20g comes from a big ass salad, a small portion of sweet potatoes, or a coffee with a bit of added sugar, your body will still maintain a state of ketosis. Now, that's not to say that this is the best way to follow Keto. You'll quickly ask yourself... "Hey... Is it worth blowing my daily carb allotment on this...?" Sometimes it totally is. That negligible amount of sugar in your bacon (the package even says 0g carbs) is not going to kick you out of ketosis. That trace amount of potato starch in your shredded cheese is not going to kick you of ketosis. The wheat flour in your salad dressing isn't going to kick you out of ketosis. Is it annoying that they're there and it cuts into your daily carb allotment? Yep, sure is. But you can still maintain a state of ketosis just fine with them. There's a lot of pretentious dogma that often comes with Keto. It's like, if you aren't eating 100% totally clean and perfect, you're wasting your time or following everything wrong. That's not the case. We all come from different walks of life... with different food options... and different food budgets. Make it work for you. It doesn't have to be perfect. Over time, you'll discover ways to optimize and make it work best for you. Careful with some of those coaches too. Don't get sucked into the pyramid scheme that is exogenous ketones. Your body can make ketones all on its own. Sorry, but if your "business" is made by captilizing on newbies and the naive, shame on you. #motivationmonday I hear it so much and it drives me crazy! Stay off the scale, and stop stressing about what the number is! Do you know what the scale actually tells you?👇🏼 1. How much your bones weigh. 2.How much your water weighs. 3.How much your muscles weigh. 4. How much your fat weighs. 5.How much your tissues & organs weigh. You get my point it doesn’t tell you anything about how healthy you are! You can be 120lbs and unhealthy, or you can be 120lbs and healthy. You can be 220lbs and unhealthy, or you can be 220lbs and healthy! Why are you putting yourself through mental torture by jumping on that scale several times a day if it means absolutely nothing! If you want to track something track inches or track how your clothes fit, that’s a much better gauge about your health than the scale!

BACK AT THE GYM after this crazy weekend! I legit went to Lowe’s 5 times on Saturday 😂 Homeownership has really been an interesting thing I must say! Happy to be back at the gym this morning and back in routine! I want to post as reminder, packing up a house and eating out because there’s no dishes to be found in the cabinets does not mean you need to dive off the deep end. Although I have not been eating the very best I could be, I’m still watching what I eat for sure! No pizza, cheeseburgers, chinese food or any of that. I’ve worked my ASS off to get where I’m at and I’m not going to quit now no matter what “excuses” I have. This is a lifelong commitment and I’m 100% committed for life. ♥️ #lifestylechange
