Why do you keep restricting yourself to “bro” diets? . I remember eating bro foods. My days consisted of chicken, broccoli, jasmine rice, egg whites, oats, rice cakes, and maybe sweet potatoes. Every single day... . I gained probably ~15-20lbs because my body needed more. I was falling asleep at random times throughout the day but barely slept at night. My relationship with myself got worse. Oh, and I cried probably every day. . I thought this “diet” was supposed to work but it wasn’t and there was something wrong with me! Last week I made the most delicious #lowcarb burger! For my clients on low carb days, we increase our fat intake to replace missing carbs, so I took advantage of that with this BBQ Bacon avocado burger! • It was seriously the EASIEST meal to put together, and clearly did not lack in the flavor department. LEARN THE CHIN UP by: @chaddriscoll - This is hands down one of my favorites exercises of all time. I used to dislike them only because I wasn’t good at them. The key to getting good at chin ups is increasing back strength and practicing the chin up. No other way around it. - The chin ups are not only a back exercise, but they are incredible for your core as well. You will immediately notice the difference once you do these simple fixes: ✅Straight Legs, Flexed quads ✅Hips under ribs ✅Toes up ✅Pull upper chest/clavicle to the bar - If you can’t get to a chin up just yet use a band, put it under your foot, and take the same approach. - Always remember to use full range of motion! One of best parts about being a FASTer Way To Fat Loss® Coach is when my new friends become the hero in their own story. My kids are just used to me crying when I read emails and messages. 😂😭 • • Listen to what Deborah says: I have learned so much about my body and the way to fuel it well. I really enjoyed the variety of work outs and MAN did i love getting to eat so much food! : As I think back over the last 6 weeks I am amazed at how much I have grown in the freedom of not feeling consumed by thinking about food and what and when I will eat next. I have started to plan my days and meals and that has blessed my family as a whole and even helps us on our budget! We have been eating more in the we used to, and that is a good thing. I am also not feeling controlled by food but I feel the freedom of enjoying new things and bringing back healthy fats and carbs into my diet. : I have learned that I really enjoy being healthy and feeling strong and this program has helped me gain new insight into what that looks like. So yesterday, I did my first upper body workout. It was also the first time I felt muscles working, which never seemed to work before! Good feeling. I haven't had a real workout plan, I just needed to get into it, find the exercises which fit to me. And I think it was good😊 Today is running day. As I am working from 2 pm today, I had the time to run in the morning. I can really tell the distance but I think I did the 4-5km. In 26 min. I am proud of myself! Not because of the distance , but because it's cold and stormy, I didn't even had running shoes... These are wandershoes😅 some weeks ago I would have said, I am gonna run when its a little warmer and sunny. NO EXCUSES! Can we just take a second and recognize how toxic this is? Beating up our bodies might work temporarily but it NEVER works as a lifestyle. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The fastest method to change is to LOVE your body exactly as it is right now. Yes, you can love your body while working towards a goal. No, loving your body is not some woo-woo 🐴 💩; it’s about unlearning everything you’ve been taught. The stress created when you hate your body, shame it, hide it and shit-talk it, is keeping you mentally and physically trapped. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Have you ever tried focused, loving thoughts on an area of your body you dislike? This will give you a sense of what needs to shift to get on a new path. It’s not about dwelling in the past & wallowing in ‘mistakes’. 💥 Back Pain Relief 💥 I've mentioned before how hurting my back a year ago has changed the way I train. I'd like to share some things I do everyday to supplement my training. These little hacks have helped me TONS with improving overall core strength and avoiding back pain. These are not all of them, but I feel are the most important. I do them whether or not I'm training 👍. . RESTORATIVE ➡️ 90/90 Neutral Back. Find a chair, bench, sofa and use whatever you need to make sure your hips and knees are at a 90 degree angle. Take nice slow breaths, inhaling from the belly to the chest, exhaling from the chest into the belly. This pose is useful to align your body in a neutral position after you wake in the am or can be used before training. Rule of thumb if your body feels like crap, try this one first! WARNING, you might snooze for a bit here 😁 MOBILITY ➡️ Dead Bugs. Making sure your low back is flat to the ground, brace your core and extend opposite arm to opposite leg. Easier than it looks, it also helps to strengthen core. ➡️ Thoracic Twists. Start on all 4s, sit back slightly towards your heels. Take arm out to the side, thread arm through while twisting, make sure your head follows your thumb. Bring arm back out reaching for the ceiling. Do for at least a count of 7. ➡️ Cat/Cow. Low back arches as your chin comes up. Reverse move by tucking in pelvis, chin and sucking in belly. ➡️ Supine Hip Twists. Do one side 1st up to 8x before going to other side. If your foot can't reach the floor, use a block or something else for support. Head moves opposite your legs. STRENGTH ➡️ Hip Bridges. Brace your core as you lift hips, squeeze at the top and hold. Day 6 of Gym training. Today one of my PTs @effpt put me through my paces with a core work out. I was tired at the end which means that I really did push my hardest. @effpt likes to incorporate PLANKS and the MEDICINE BALLS (varying in weight) into the sessions. Some of the exercises in today's session⬇️ *10 min incline *1 min planks then swap 1 min leg raises (3each) *Situps with the medicine balls, builiding on the weight. 💪Tip of the day: When you are doing an exercise and you feel you can't do any more, do 2 more seconds, then the next time push for 3 seconds etc. Those seconds add up and your endurance and strength WILL pick up. Start small don't put unrealistic goals infront of you because if they are unrealistic then you know what....you will come down crashing if you don't meet them and feel rubbish at the same time. If you haven't started your fitness journey yet. What’s the 80/20 diet rule? ⁉️Stick to your plan 80% of the time and allow yourself to still have “fun foods” that may not be part of the “strict plan” 20% of the time. ‼️For me the 20% bucket includes chocolate 🍫 wine 🍷 and some desserts 🍮 (don’t care for cake). If you haven’t been following my “24 Days of Thankfulness” highlight series, let me explain. I started this series to share what I’m grateful for this year throughout the month of November up to Thanksgiving Day, it’s not in any specific order just sharing what I feel. Today was day 10 and I briefly shared about my parents, which if you know me or them, you know that it goes without saying that we make a pretty great family 😅 I like how we always sign up for activities and 5K’s for great causes- without training (even though we have more than enough time to do so haha) Both Mama E.B. and I placed in our age group for this one! She placed 3rd and I placed 2nd! This is the first time I ever placed in my group, so I’m so happy! 😭 Anyways, here are some photos for memories sake.

Equipment highlight! High Parallettes 😎 There's loads of new equipment in the studio, so I wanted to give you some ideas of what can be done with it 🤸‍♀️ every week I will be focusing on a different piece of equipment, posting some exercise ideas for you to try as well as some less "conventional" uses. These Parallette bars are great for calisthenics and bodyweight exercises, which I will show in the next posts. But here's a less conventional thing to do with them: teaching a squat and a hip hinge. A lot of people in the gym confuse those two patterns. Quite common to see those who can't do any of those due to not using them in our modern sedentary lives. These are patterns that need to be re-established if you want to have a good quality of life when you're older, and also if you want to see good progress with your training overall, as these two lie in the fundamentals of a lot of exercises that recruit a high amount of muscle groups and motor units. Now, this isn't a super conventional way of teaching those patterns, not it is a conventional way of using parallettes, but it proved to be very effective for a lot of people to help understand the concept of the movement. Some will do better with box squats, goblets and kneeling hinges or other exercises, but this one actually has worked wonders for a lot of my clients. The sliding of the hands on the bars allows just enough stability without relying on them like you would on a trx, and still feeling comfortable enough to get lower in a good position without switching into compensation mode. You can go as low as you feel secure and explore further depth with a slight stretch, or you can just work on the movement itself. The height of the bars and the fact that they're forcing you to reach forward helps to keep the back engaged in a neutral position. It is also helpful to see and feel the difference between your trunk position in a squat and a hinge. In the squat it is a lot more upright (sit in front of the bars), and in the hinge it is more horizontal (push hips back and "stretch your armpits", chest goes down). Day 5 If you want to do it properly you need to get the best man for the job... This is the man behind the plan and behind the 12 week fitness plan @anthonyhillpt @force_fitness_sx He is knowledgable, motivating and gets you to work like you have never worked before. I am new to this so I ask all the questions and he has all the answers. Great session today 7-8am. Only after 10 days of eating clean and 5 days of GYM HIIT I can see the difference, not only have I managed to lose 3kg already but I am so much more energised. In order to lose fat, you must be in a caloric deficit. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ A caloric deficit is basically the fancy way of saying “burning more calories than you consume” (ie. net NEGATIVE calories) ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Let me tell you some of the crazy things I have tried in the past to lose weight⁣⁣ (spoiler alert: none of them worked for sustained fat loss) ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ➡️Juice cleanses ⁣⁣ ➡️Skipping meals ⁣⁣ ➡️Sitting in the sauna with those plastic tummy wraps ⁣⁣ ➡️Detox teas⁣⁣ ➡️Doing cardio classes like spin or kickboxing followed by mindless hours on the elliptical ⁣⁣ ➡️Green tea fat burners ⁣⁣ ➡️Oatmeal only diet (what the..??)⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I want you to think about methods, diets, workouts you have tried to put your body in a caloric deficit. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Was it cutting out all sugar? Carbs? Training on the elliptical for one hour daily? ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ You and I both know none of these things were *drumroll* SUSTAINABLE. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Comment below and let me know what things you have tried in the name of losing weight and fat! ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Now, let’s get to: HOW TO SET A CALORIC DEFICIT FOR FAT LOSS⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Step 1️⃣⁣⁣ Multiply your bodyweight by 10-13. This is a calorie range. ⁣⁣ (everyone is different…these ranges are a good place to start) ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Ex. If your weight is 150lb, your range would be⁣⁣ 150x10 = 1500⁣⁣ 130x13 = 1950⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Calorie range: 1500-1950 calories ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Step 2️⃣⁣⁣ Stay in this range for 1-2 weeks. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Be diligent with tracking your calories during this time. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I recommend using MyFitnessPal⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Step 3️⃣⁣⁣ Monitor any changes. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Did your weight go up? down? stay the same? ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Note: look at your overall weight trend rather than obsessing over the day-to-day numbers. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Step 4️⃣⁣⁣ Adjust if desired⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Adjust your calories according to the results you hope to achieve. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Go to the higher or lower end of the range as needed. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ And that’s all! ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Remember: you NEED to be in a caloric deficit to lose fat. In order to be able to STICK to this caloric deficit, however, we need to make sure your hormones are in check in order to make long term change. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Whether it’s helping you set a caloric deficit or explaining this further, I would love to hear from you!

Play along with me in your kitchen. ⁣ ⁣ There’s zero cooking involved! And no cooking means less dishes, which means more time for sunshine and exercise and spending time with your loved ones. ⁣ ⁣ Sashimi bowls can go in many different directions, so here’s a base to pivot from. ⁣ ⁣ 🔹Here I have a hidden bed of spinach, instead of the traditional rice⁣ (you can also go half+half..because lets be real: rice and spinach taste nothing alike)⁣ 🔹topped with salmon sashimi⁣ 🔹cucumber⁣ 🔹pickled ginger⁣ 🔹seaweed⁣ 🔹avocado⁣ 🔹onions ⁣ 🔹chives. ⁣ 🔹drizzle of sesame oil and coconut amigos (or soy sauce if it sits well with you) and ta-da! ⁣ ⁣ I forgot to add the sesame seeds before taking this picture so go ahead and sprinkle those on for aesthetic points and some extra healthy fats 😉⁣ ⁣ If you’re vegetarian, throw in some marinated tofu using sesame oil, soy sauce, pineapple juice, ginger, sesame seeds, chili garlic sauce—just an idea! ⁣ ⁣ Above all, listen to your body. ⁣ ⁣ What I eat isn't necessarily what you should eat. ⁣ ⁣ Make decisions that are right for YOU and eat food that you love/food that helps you CRUSH (and crush on) your life. ⁣ ⁣ Oh, and kindness is always the best seasoning for your dish. When you go on crash diets and over-restrict—what happens?⁣ ⁣ YOU GET HUNGRY 😋. ⁣ ⁣ If you try to burn more calories than you consume—what happens?⁣ ⁣ YOU GET HANGRY 😡 AND DRAINED 😴 AND FRUSTRATED 😫.⁣ ⁣ (ie. you ate 1800 calories and then did cardio to burn an equal amount….pssst, this is NOT necessary or advised) ⁣ ⁣ If you’re on a mission to shed fat, looking at just calories is naive. ⁣ ⁣ Hormones are incredibly important to your metabolism and when managed alongside calories, you can achieve your dream bod *effortlessly*⁣ ⁣ Things like stress and lack of sleep throw your hormones out of whack which impacts your metabolism in the long run. ⁣ ⁣ SO: ⁣ ⁣ 1️⃣ Think of your hormones when it comes to fat loss. ⁣ ⁣ Ask yourself, “what are my hunger, energy levels, and cravings like?” ⁣ ⁣ If you have these 3 things in check, your hormones are probably in a good place. ⁣ ⁣ 2️⃣ Think of food as more than *just* calories. ⁣ ⁣ Half a donut and 3 eggs may have the same calories, but one will give you sustained energy and the other will ave you craving a sugar-laden frappe by 3pm. ⁣ ⁣ This brings me to my next point: ⁣ ⁣ 3️⃣ Meals are not individual entities. What you eat for breakfast impacts what you crave for lunch and so forth. ⁣ ⁣ On this page, I want to teach you to eat smarter without giving up the foods you love. ⁣ ⁣ 4️⃣ There is no perfect diet that you can download from the internet and blindly follow. ⁣ ⁣ I mean, you technically could. And it may even work for a while. Until it doesn’t (because you can’t adhere to it)⁣ ⁣ There is, however, a perfect diet for YOU. One that is built around your metabolism, hormones, personal preference, and mindset. ⁣ ⁣ Once we figure out what works best for you, it’s not a matter of *if* you’ll shed the fat and live a kickass love, but WHEN. ⁣ ⁣ **stay tuned for my next post where I’ll teach you how to determine how many calories you should be consuming in order to shed fat**⁣
