On the last day of our brigade in Nicaragua, we travelled to Las Curenas, where we had the opportunity to work alongside community members; digging trenches towards the goal of allowing access to, and sustaining the management of clean water. Las Curenas is located in the mountainous region of central Nicaragua, and access to potable water is one of the community's top three needs. Our efforts are only a small contribution to what the community members put in daily, all year round ! It is inspiring to see their endless dedication and efforts to achieve this necessity and ongoing goal. What really stood out, is that despite their endless work and despite what yet needs to be done, they shared smiles of joy, and carried such a positive outlook, which is inspiring itself.
