Trilogies are a tricky thing.
In order to work, they need to work together, with a common thread that holds them together, AND bring their own ‘je ne sais quoi’. • - •
A New Hope - The Empire Strikes Back - Return of the Jedi • - •
Clerks - Mallrats - Chasing Amy

Indiana Jones/Back to the Future/The Godfather/Toy Story... There’s a lot of awesome sequels, but that next instalment appears to be much harder to get right.
The temptation to try and recreate the magic from last time is a big pull but there’s no guarantees (karate kid III, terminator 3, robocop 3, home alone 3)
But the best trilogies work because they are three pillars that stand alone, but work together to build something even stronger.
We got lucky.
The universe gave us 3 small humans who couldn’t be more different, but seem to be the three cogs that keep the machine running.
But you can’t expect ‘the road warrior’ to act and grow the same
As ‘beyond the thunderdome’, even though Mad Max is part of them all!
If this made any sense to any of you I’d be amazed 😂
Hope you’re having a great weekend, and whether you have a trilogy, a whole franchise or are yet to create your debut (or might be the star of your own blockbuster, not everyone needs to make a movie), enjoy every moment because the credits will be her before we know it.
