George flies the nest....... In 2014 we made room for a young 18 year old first year senior, we knew then that he had lots of ability and it would be a matter of helping him realise that potential. The years since have had there ups and downs and its been emotional but 2019 will see George take the step that his results have merited for some time and move to a UCI Conti team in Swift Carbon, based in Yorkshire.
It's been a privilege to see George develop during his time with the team, his dedication and will to train is unmatched he has won numerous races and he has proven to be a real all rounder, excelling on the road and on the crit circuit. His results in the Premier Calendar series and his circuit race results this season (getting on the podium as a guest rider in the Tour series and also at the London nocturne) show he can deliver at the highest level in the UK. It is with much pride that we send him on his way and wish him every success on his next step and we truly hope he continues to develop and get the results his talents deserve.
To see a rider move up the ranks is extremely gratifying for an amateur team like ours and it was appreciated that George recognised how hard the team works, when he said “The team has helped me become the rider I am today and I can't thank them enough for the support they have given throughout.''
He also realised that without our amazing band of sponsors he would not have had the opportunities he has had with the team "The team have also been backed by generous long-standing sponsors to keep this local team going, I think the support has been reflected in the team rankings and I can't thank them enough for that"
Good Luck George, we salute you, you will be missed and it will be odd not seeing you in orange next season !! 😉
Also, we found a few photos just so we could remember what you've been up to over the last few years !! @
