FEATURED RIDER: Meet Jason (@), a member of the Tonit community. Jason started riding motorcycles in 2014, with his first bike being a 2003 Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R. He put over 20,000 miles on it before it was involved in a fatal accident involving one of his friends. Being a Firefighter, he was at the scene and it’s something he will never forget. While many riders would never sit on a bike again, Jason did the opposite. Not only did he rebuild the ninja in his friend’s honor, he named the bike after his friend, Rose. This is how Jason got the name Rosezx6r, even getting a tattoo of the Ninja on his leg - the left leg chosen because it’s the shifter leg and reminds him to always move forward.
Jason’s current daily bike is a 2006 Honda VTX1300R. He’s put over 52,000 miles on it since July 2016, and has ridden 90,000 miles in the 3 years he’s been documenting his rides. When not working, Jason tours the country on his bike towing a trailer with a built-in camper. The camper keeps him on the road, and the miles and memories coming.
If he had to choose, Jason’s favourite route is the trip to Sturgis, a 24 hour ride from start to finish, with so much to see and do and the Black Hills offering some of the most beautiful riding in the country.
In 2018, Jason rode his motorcycle in 33 states, went to Daytona Spring and Fall Rally (Biketoberfest), Laconia Rally, Sturgis Rally and Rolling Thunder. He completed 7 Saddlesore (1000 Miles) in 24 hours and 1 BunBurner (1500 miles) in 36 hours. He also participated in the Tour of Honor visiting 28 memorials across the country. His most grueling 2018 ride was a 9/11 memorial ride to all 3 national memorials on September 11. His longest ride was a 4 1/2 day, 4,000 mile ride to Sturgis with a trip to the Tail of the Dragon on the route home. Doesn't your butt hurt just thinking about it?
Jason’s dream bike is a charcoal Indian Roadmaster. He’s done a few test rides on it so maybe Santa will get the hint and put one beside the tree for him this year. 😜
