After the #storm last night, I felt I should share my #summer #goldfinch piece, which may wrap up my unofficial series of #seasonal #birds - Spring Robins and Winter Cardinal being the predecessors, and an unexpected autumn #bird to be released here in another couple weeks. Although, if you stopped by @puzzledfm during #corksandcanvas last week, you may have already spied the #featheredfriend for this fall.
Anyways, I had difficulty choosing a specific bird to represent summer. I was originally thinking sparrows or swallows, but chose #goldfinches due to their vibrant plumage. Additionally, there are a few other keys that tie it to the other pieces - the yellow of the goldfinch follows in chromatic sequence with the orange of the robin and the red of the cardinal, for example. The #summershowers felt like a natural parallel to the winter snow from the cardinal piece, while the composition of the goldfinches is a reflection on the composition of the robins.
So what do you think? Is there a bird you feel better represents summer? Can you guess what bird might be in line for autumn? Leave a comment down below and have a wonderful #rainyday ! 😸
