If you would have told me I was going to have a 5 year old when I was 43, I wouldn’t have believed you! After raising 3 boys and being blessed with 4 step kids, I figured I had this child raising thing in the bag...easy peasy right? Haha! Wrong! Bree has showed me differently! It all started when she was first born in the hospital. The nurse brought her to me and said, “she’s upset all the babies in the nursery, she can’t be in there”. 😂 The first year of her life I was a zombie, got down to 100 pounds, had adrenal fatigue, and my iron levels were very low. She has talked early, walked early...and I’ve had to watch her like a hawk. Going places with her hasn’t/isn’t easy...she is all over the place, moves constantly, talks to everyone, calls waitresses over to the table to order food or to ask when the food will be ready, and has even been known to go sit at someone’s table in a restaurant she doesn’t know and ask for a bite of their food. 😱 She knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to go after what she wants. I’ve Googled and read so many articles for strong willed kids or kids with ADHD for advice, and listened to so many podcasts for advice. I’ve raised 2 strong willed boys and survived but Bree is her own kind of strong willed. 💪 So here’s to you mom who has or is raising a strong willed child! They are world changers and blessings...and keep us on our knees praying. 🙏 I’ve learned giving them choices works good, keeping their diets clean helps, and the best advice I have is to celebrate who they are, enjoy them, be present when they need you, and laugh with them. What tips do you have for raising strong willed kids?
