When was the last time you learnt something... physical. Like really learnt a new skill with your body? Comment ‘KEEP’ if you want me to keep this up for you to practice 💪. Scroll along the carousel for broken down moves 👉 The third pillar of #theframptonmethod is SKILLS. This includes learning any movements you’ve either never been able to do or re-learning skills you used to be able to... even if the last time you did them you were three years old 🙈. As young children we play and a lot of this play happens on the ground so I wanted to share with you the steps to a new skill. The main one I do in this video is a shoulder roll. It’s functional in some martial arts, in Parkour and also a variation of a gymnastic roll. The main purpose of me showing you the steps to this is firstly it teaches you how to roll safely without rolling directly on your head and it can also be a stepping stone to many more new skills that are relative to good functional movement including self awareness, better posture and even just becoming more confident in yourself. The forward roll can teach you all types of skills that are in my book including; - The headstand. - The frogstand. - The Handstand. - Flexibility elements. And it will really help you get over the fear of falling forwards because if you put a little time into mastering this then you’ll know exactly what to do when you lose your balance. 🤟 So scroll along the carousel and start from the beginning on a soft surface and work out where you’re at ... the bit you can’t do that’s what needs work ... maybe it’s progression 1, that’s ok, the most important is that you know where you’re at, maybe you can do them all.. great, start to be creative and challenge yourself in other rolls.
