Killing Commendatore. Haruki Murakami. Not much to say about the new Murakami. If you've not read him yet, you should. His imagination is unmatched and i'm awed by his continuing to write so prodigiously year after year, with every book being of a different subject matter, while still exploring many of the same themes. I applaud his talent as a wordsmith and look forward to further exploring his catalogue of books and eagerly await any new writing. #goodreads #booksofinstagram #booklover #readersofinstagram #readerforlife #booksintranslation

Day 8 and it's time to lose yourself this Christmas in a new French fantasy story, while you enter through mirrors and meet Ophelia who has the ability to travel through mirrors. Even with this incredible skill, there's much distressing Ophelia, when she is promised to marry Thom, an influential clan member. Ophelia must leave all behind her and enter the world of Ark, a cold and icy place named the Pole, where there is much danger, be cautious who you choose to trust! Ophelia slowly realizes that she is a pawn in a political game that will have ramifications not only for her but for her entire world. A captivating read, that has been compared as the French version to the #harrypotterbooks as well as #hisdarkmaterialstrilogy for those who are in need for a new fantasy series, that will delight teens as well as adults. This is book one of #themirrorvistior full of magic and mayhem, get cosy, and enter if you dare, #theworldofark filled with enchanting characters who will dazzle you with their magical powers. I've been excited by this book ever since it first came out and have been waiting for it to get really cold, for me to fully appreciate and gain a real essence of the world that has been created in #awinterpromise that has already been a sell out read by debut writer: #christelledabos #25daysofchristmasbooks @europaeditions #frenchbooks #booksintranslation #christmasbooks #christmasfeeling #whitechristmas #fanstayread #bookagram #bookblogger #winterreads #femalewriter #adventcalendar #christmasbookadventcalendar #frenchbook #tonischristmasbooks

No prizes for guessing which of these beautiful @fitzcarraldoeditions books I have read and loved, and which is patiently waiting in line... . I first came across @fitzcarraldoeditions at a launch party for This Little Art at and I have been so impressed by the quality of their publishing ever since. I’m particularly looking forward to reading Man Booker International Prize-winner Olga Tokarczuk’s Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead, translated from the Polish by Antonia Lloyd-Jones. . Have you got any @fitzcarraldoeditions recommendations? . #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #booksintranslation #fitzcarraldoeditions #books #amreading #bookish #bookworm #bookaholic #bibliophile

Up next is An Armenian Sketchbook by Vasily Grossman. I have been wanting to read Grossman for awhile, but before I dive into Life and Fate I thought I would try this, as I love good travel writing (or really, writing about places, whether or not there is travel involved). Plus, it’s satsuma time! 🍊🍊

This little treasure was one of my favorite books I read in the second half of the year. I found it through the hashtag #translatedbooks and I’m so happy I did! It was a gem of a book and a really interesting character study. It would make a lovely stocking stuffer for someone’s Christmas! 🎁 . . . . #booktuber #bookstagram #booktube #bookstagrammer #bookworm #bookishchristmas #booksandtea #booksintranslation
