🧠What you think you’re capable of vs. what you’re actually capable of... 🏋🏻‍♀️Just trying to live up to my Instagram name ___ I always tell people your mind will give out before your body does. It’s true. The heaviest weight I’ve touched in the past year for squats was 165lbs. Today I needed someone else to just load up the bar and tell me to hit it. I asked @drewthehalfjew to not tell me what the weight was at first because I knew I’d get in my own head and would quit before I even got under the bar. It sucked. It was heavy. But with his encouragement I hit 207lbs! ___ I’m stoked to see how far I can get with the help and coaching of Drew (because I need someone to tell me to not be soft...). You have to get out of your comfort zone sometimes and tell your brain to shut up. That’s definitely something I’m working on right now🗣🧠it makes it easier when you have people around you that believe in you. ___ 🛑Of course, be careful. Lift with proper form and have someone to spot you and give you cues when you’re going heavier🛑 ___ P.S. One of my favorite tools in training is the Land Mine. . There are just so many activities you can do with it! . It’s kind of like a smith machine that doesn’t suck. . I love this for beginners because it not only helps develop proprioception, it also gives a fixed range of motion for them to follow. . I was asked today by a media outlet “What is the most important part of Health and Fitness?” . “Honestly, it comes down to finding something that gets you moving vigorously a few times a week. Be comfortable in your own skin, be comfortable with you. . Talking to a few clients the other day “I would rather squat 400lbs than have 6 six pack year round”. . That’s who I am. That’s why I’m such a great coach. I don’t teach my clients to focus on what they don’t have. We work on being grateful for what we do have and then we can truly work towards our best self. . I’ve had a 6 pack before, I’ve weighed 175lbs, looked shredded and felt like crap. That’s just not what’s optimal for me and my life. I enjoy being strong. The rep schemes in this workout can be broken up however you would like. Just get it done! 25 total deadlifts (For novice lifters use a weight that is hard for a set of 6, for experienced use 80% 1RM) 50 Squats (65% or a weight you can do for 12reps) 100 total reps Ab wheel Lunges Box Jumps . I am so grateful everyday that I attract the most amazing people! . I don’t think I’ve ever had anyone that’s starting from nothing get it the way Alex does. Why the face you ask?? . Oh because I just worked out harder than I ever have before and I’m freaking pumped. Ok I’m dead, but I’m pumped . 235 fucking pounds on the weighted glute bridges x10! 215 was my previous max 💪🏻I almost cried, for real. That shit is heavy! But it was the burn out set after that killed me. Drew freaking rocks!! 300 lbs I’m coming for you 😬 . Oh but wait there’s more...today was also the yearly 2 min push-up challenge. We’ve got 3 weeks to do it. Last year I got 38 the first try, 3rd try I got 62. First attempt this year: 65 off the knees push-ups in 2 min 💪🏻 I have no goal for weeks 2 and 3 🤔 . I also have to give a huge shout out to TA for knowing I maxed out on lower body and modifying TRX bootcamp for me.
