I’m getting asked a lot of questions around carbs and ‘carb up’. Carbs or carbohydrates go into your muscles and then give you energy. Each individual can store a certain amount of which I can’t remember exactly how much.
When you eat too many carbs they spill out over the muscle belly and that’s how they turn into fat.
So for me, I haven’t eaten any carbs for 4 months (the amount I’m holding in my hand is my daily allowance) and I have fatigued my muscles by training twice a day in order to lose fat. So most non body builder people have some carbs in their food plan that will stay in their storage to help with their workouts, day to day activities, keeping full and brain power etc. me tho, I’ve been living off my own body fat because there has been little to no carb storage.
Now, after a lengthened period of not a lot of carbs, my muscles are craving them. They are ‘depleted’ so when I eat carbs they will go straight into the muscle and replenish it which also makes them bigger.
Kinda like an old dry sponge, when you wet the sponge, it expands and absorbs all the water.
So there you go. Method to the madness.
Yesterday I ate that entire pot of Kumara (carbs) and today I will do the same. Sooo... when I said above that when one eats excess carbs and it spills out then turns into fat, you actually have to eat ALOT of carbs for this to happen. Therefore carbs are not the devil. I could go into so much detail.
