This week’s grocery haul is a little smaller than usual but it’s all package-free. We still have some veggies from last week that we need to eat up
I found some cherry tomatoes in bulk at the farmer’s market! This feels like a win! Not going to lie, but finding stuff like this makes me happy
Again with the berries, I’m loving berries! They’re technically package-free. I brought my own containers and poured the berries into them. And returned the plastic containers to the farmer straight away for them to reuse. As an extreme introvert, it’s actually really tiring talking to strangers but I realise having a conversation is good. And it’s nice to be remembered as if I’m a regular. It all feels very “adult”, and often I feel like a child in an grown-ass human body!
I also got some spices in bulk (in repurposed jars). I find spices in bulk food stores so cheaper. I want to do another comparison of bulk spices vs supermarket again to show how much cheaper it is (at least in my area). So, I should have that up shortly
I also got some chia seeds and rye flour in bulk. To be honest, I still buy white & whole meal flour in paper bags as it’s so much cheaper and I make my own bread every week. The great thing is it’s paper and can be easily recycled. I normally buy the speciality flours like rye or rice in bulk as it works out to be similar in pricing
So, yeah, that’s how I like to spend my days off! By going to going to the farmers market and doing some bulk food shopping. Maybe I AM old after all?????? I shall have some tea now and try and finish off a scarf I’ve been knitting for 3 years. Seriously. That’s not a joke! It’s been 3 years!!! Sometimes, I feel 80, but other times I feel 12
