The look of free meal option decisions๐Ÿ‘„ How do I maintain a relatively โ€œleanโ€ look while in a caloric surplus/gaining phase? . Hitting my macros TO A TEE... no half ass-ing or guessing for this gal๐Ÿ‘ . A weekly controlled free meal! I eat something I crave but donโ€™t โ€œeat like a jerkโ€ and finish other peopleโ€™s plates and go back for seconds and dessert. I eat until Iโ€™m satisfied and stop when Iโ€™ve had enough! My free meals usually consist of pancakes, a sandwich of some form with fries (preferably sweet potater๐Ÿ˜‹) etc... . Training HARD. 6 ways to DOUBLE your muscle in half the time: . 1)Start Paying attention Become mindful, pay attention, close your eyes. Connect with your body and growth will go to a new level. . 2)Stop moving Its only cheating yourself. The only thing that should move is the muscle youre training. If something else is moving, its taking away your opportunity for progress. . 3)Slow down and determine at every inch what muscle is contracting. Control is everything. Why bother lifting a weight if you cant say 100% of the time that the muscle you're training is actually doing the work. Think about it. . 4)If youre not in control, youre not building muscle. Simply lifting weight is not going to get it done. You already know that. Slinging weight mindlessly will never get you a body worth looking at. Take it from me and the hundreds of people that have been through Transbulk training methods. 5)Dont cheat. Ever. Cheating comes in the form of using momentum or swinging to overcome inertia, or moving your body into positions to make moving more load easier mechanically, there is never a place to cheat. It really makes very little sense. Ive got a ton of ways to intensify workouts that are way better and actually challenge the muscle and arent just using momentum. . 6)Contract muscles hard. Make those contractions move the weight. Contractions move load. Squeeze a muscle as hard as you can, now use that contraction to propel motion. Think about it. Try it right now. . BLOOD FLOW RESTRICTION TRAINING - @fitness_walkthroughโ € -โ € BFR is actually very well researched and quite safe. The idea is to temporarily restrict venous blood flow return (not arterial) from the muscle. This allows muscle growth and strength gains to be made even with light weights due in part to the fact that the muscles are exposed to high levels of metabolic stress (through the accumulation of metabolic byproducts). โ € -โ € There are other factors at play (cell swelling, preferential recruitment of fast twitch fibers, etc.), but we don't know for sure all of the exact mechanisms that make BFR training work, we just know that it works.โ € -โ € Because BFR training allows you to use light loads and still see similar benefits as you do with heavier weights, it's great for when you're working around an injury. Sure I'd love to be doing heavy skullcrushers and close-grip bench for my triceps, but my elbow simply wouldn't allow it. BFR cable extensions, on the other hand, I can do all day long pain free.โ € -โ € For BFR training for the arms, I prefer to use quick-release medical tourniquets. Last I checked, they cost about $4 on amazon. Put them as high up on your arm (close to the shoulder) as you can and pull to a tightness of about a 7-8/10.โ € -โ € Use a weight with which you could get about 30-40 reps if you were fresh and perform as many reps as you can. Rest about 30 seconds (leaving the wraps on) and then perform as many reps as you can again. Repeat 2-3 more times, keeping the rest intervals at 30 seconds or less.โ € -โ € BFR should not take the place of heavy lifting but it can be a useful supplement if you are injured, want some additional volume without using heavy weights, or are traveling and only have access to light weights.โ € -โ € Have you ever used BFR? I AVOID AT ALL COSTS: Soy Corn Vegetable Oil Gluten Dairy Sugar Artificial Sweeteners, colours. Plastic and food containers Microwaves . Fats and proteins are most important when it comes to quality of the source. Toxins are stored in fats, so consuming low quality meats or fatty foods with pesticides (non organic) is a bad idea. So try and find good quality meat. Also important to note that overcooked, old, rancid fats are very bad as well. . And always remember: You are not what you eat, you are what you absorb! . Full Leg Workout: Kept this Leg workout on the lighter side, but much high rep ranges. Youโ€™ll definitely feel the pump after this one. โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ € 1. BB Squats: I did a 4x4, but go for whatever rep/set range you feel comfortable with. Stay within 6-4 reps and 5-3 sets 2. Close Stance Smith Machine Squat, 3x15: Possibly my favorite leg movement. Keep the weight low. Do not lockout at the top of the movement, try to keep tension on your legs the entire movement. 3. Leg Press, 3x30: Start with 15 reps with a wide stance, then bring your feet together and do 15 close stance reps. Your legs should be pretty kicked at this point so really try and focus on the mind muscle connection. 4. Seated Leg Curl, 3x15: Add this in to work the hammies a little. 5. Seated Calf Press, 3xfailure: Mix up the rep ranges for each set. #motivationmonday for me. I wish I still looked like this, but I know I will look better in the end. Any off season will leave you wishing for conditioning again, but it's necessary. After all, I know my conditioning protocol works well. All I have to do is follow it again. I recently hit a PR of 4 reps of 315 on squats. My phone was dead so I wasnโ€™t able to record it. Anyways, this is me about a year and a half ago doing 225 with trash form and not hitting depth. I HAD TO BUBBLE UP, JUST TO DOUBLE UP... Current Physique update and ya boy is lookin' beefy out in these skreets, ya hear me? Officially back in the 200 lbs club, sitting at 200.4 lbs with a 33 3/4" waist. I am at the peak of my offseason with macros at 365g carbs, 80g fat, and 245g protein. My current physique is not lean but could be worse. I have been enjoying life and I'm happy with it. I am not the type of bodybuilder that believes in being 100% faithful to my macros everyday in the offseason. With me knowing that I will be going into contest prep mode in the coming months (where I will have many limitations), I am just enjoying food, time with family and friends, and not worried about hitting each day 100% on the dot - but I do hit my macros most days throughout the week. - - - - - I have always appreciated the people I follow on Instagram who keep it 100 and don't mind posting pics of their physiques in their offseason. A lot of us don't look all that special when we are in our massing phases and I don't want anyone following me to think I am lean year-round. I try to be as transparent as I can be and show the not-so-glamorous side of natural bodybuilding. I don't have six pack abs all the time and I live my life with fewer limitations during my offseason. I still have a couple months at least of my offseason so this is looking to be the heaviest bulk I've had. Excited to see how everything shakes out when we shred this fat off next year.
