Big statement time: I want to make art for real people. @milkandhoneypieco came by for a studio visit this morning, and it was so wonderful! She brought her mom and kiddo with her, and I talked way too much about the studio, the work and how it's been going these last couple months. For context, I met @milkandhoneypieco at the farmers market, on her very first day selling her pies. We chatted about baked goods, and learned that we had both just undertaken these major life changes to do things we love, for the people we love. Pretty special, right? So anyways, one thing I realized in our chat today is that I really want to make art for real people. Not just extraordinarily wealthy people, but real people like milkandhoney - people making career changes, moms with kids, families, people in tiny condos, and anyone who knows good art when they see it, but can't spend a boatload of cash on it. People that probably don't always think they can buy art. I want to make art that brightens your day and makes you smile when you see it. I don't want you to go broke buying it. Part of the joy of owning good art is being able to afford it. I'd love to know what you think, comment or msg me - what's affordable feel like to you?
