Day 12 of — long tones in the woods! Hello from manistee national forest! Music is supposed to be fun, so here’s an exercise in focus. That is all! Keeping it short cause I’ve got no connection, so enjoy!
So lately I’ve been pretty frustrated with my “teacher chops” (aka I don’t practice consistently enough) so I decided to do something about it. As you all know I am getting married in February (very exciting!). In an effort combine two things I love a lot (Brianna and band) I’ve decided to do a bit of a “challenge” for myself.
As of Thursday there will be 100 days (woot woot!) until the wedding and I am going to challenge myself to . Don’t worry, this won’t be some highfalutin mumbo-jumbo pedagogical breakdown; Instead, I’m just thinking of it as a peek into what I do that could spark some fun and interesting conversations with my brass playing friends. Also, it forces me to be accountable to myself, and gives me a long-form look into what I’m doing.
Also, long tones are better with friends, so feel free to join in. Share the good word. Do as little or as much as you want. Maybe this will be a cool way to spark ideas and dialogue. Maybe it’ll be a dumb thing I do for 100 days.
If you feel so inclined, post it to your favorite social platform using (I’ve checked, it’s not in use). Happy practicing!! #trumpetlife#trumpeter #classical#jazz #shed#longtones #tryingnewthings#trombone #tubaplayer#frenchhorn #frenchhornplayer#euphonium #bach#conn
