This is my final image of my four selected shots for the final. So I had four strong shots that I was happy with. They were a little light on the brief criteria, but within the 24 hour time limit I was happy with what I had and thought I had a chance. The actual brief was ‘The Outback, Rainforests and Waterways of Australia are vibrant in colour and Rich in diversity and life., with a natural beauty that reaches out in every direction. Your brief is to capture a folio of four images that represent our country, each image unique, and able to stand alone with it’s own narrative, yet also able to site together within a bigger Sorry. Look for the primary colours of Australia and share the ‘visual beauty’ of our amazing home.
1 Photographic technique 25%
2 Emotion and story-telling 25%
3 Meeting the Brief 25%
4 Unexpectedness 25% (surprise us!)’
So I was concentrating on the colour aspect. The judging took place at 12:00 and we were all asked to leave while the judging team reviewed the images. 40 minutes later we were called back and Mesa mister_geelong was announced as the winner with his great series of images. They certainly fit the brief and a great collection of images. There were a total of 12 images four from each of us and all great images. A great weekend and fun time. Big thanks to the Canon collective canoncollectiveofficial for putting on this great event. Thanks again to linnetfoto for the Sydney light awards lighting workshop. Daniel is a great master of the use of light and definitely worth checking out his feed and any up coming workshops he has.
