Of the more than 1,100 lakes in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, only 19 of them allow motors. The extra effort pays off though. With the peace and quiet of human-powered propulsion, you’re more likely to encounter moose, black bears, wolves, mountain lions, deer, fox and bald eagles. • • • • •#bewild #camptrend #campingofficial #wanderout #goneoutdoors #earthfever #travelingourplanet #campingcollective #ourcamplife #briskoutdoors #camp4pix #letscamp #choosemountains #departedoutdoors #wearethewild #mylandmark #makeadventure #radparks

That one time when we crossed the AB/BC border and didn’t know the BC side was shut down for an active wildfire. Oops 🤫

_ How about face your fears and share it raw? After 8 months without practice any extreme sport as highline or climb I could feel the adrenaline running in my veins again! And I can say beat the fear is a great feeling! Enjoy this great video made by my talented friend Angelo Maragno and have fun with my faces and screams!

Looking back on @carlmarrs highline, it gives me so much stoke for some big projects to come and stories we plan to share. This photo is so motivational to me, a curious mind so content and happy, just swinging in the wind, 300 feet above the tree tops. So simple, but so fulfilling.

“I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.” - L.M. Montgomery Autumn Paradise. Quaking Aspen along the way to South Lake, Bishop, CA. Nikon D850, 1/50 sec, f/11, ISO 100. 5 or 6 shots pieced together in PS at 70mm.

Just got back down from Chimborazo (6268 m) this morning (after a 22:30 start last night). I can't believe how tough this mountain was. I don't think I've ever been more exhausted. Hut to hut it took just under 10 hours, for just over 10 km of return journey. We were moving so slowly for most of it that Strava thinks the total moving time was only 3 hours, and my Garmin watch thinks I only deserve 9 hours of recovery time. I'm thinking more like 9 days... #Chimborazo #Ecuador #mountains #mountainview #adventuremore #adventureon #camp4pix #optoutside #getoutside

This past weekend, I had an experience of a lifetime with two amazing friends and my best friend of all time. We climbed Mt. Whitney at 14,497 ft and in 30 degree weather. Never have I missed my warm bed so much, but I wouldn’t trade this weekend for anything! 🗻 . . I could go on and on about how these kinds of hikes refocus me and bring me back to the basics of what really matters in life, but it’s instagram, and y’all just like photos. 😜 But in all seriousness, get out and explore, it’ll do your heart so much good. And your muscles. #sosore

Vesper Peak is the only mountain that had turned me back more than one time. It actually turned me back 3 times before I eventually made the summit. One time due to poor route finding, another due to too much snow and not proper gear and another due to just not enough daylight. All these times were within the first year of me just starting to get into hiking. Since then I’ve summited it 3 times on multiple different routes. One being at the very beginning of this summer getting the first ascent of the year on the NW face on the “True Grit” route. Mountain loop highway is where I first started hiking because I actually lived at the beginning of the road working at a gravel quarry. All the hikes and climbs there will always have a special place in my heart.

Oh, autumn. I live for pumpkin spice lattes, cozy socks and I especially love scrolling through the Instagram Explore page to see all the photos of trees where the green, yellow and orange hue sliders have been dragged to -100 in Lightroom, so that any trace of green has vanished. What’s your favorite thing about fall? #autumnAF #50shadesoforange

Yesterday’s hike through Orderville Canyon was pretty incredible. It was full 🍁🍁 for the first half, and as we slowly went lower and lower the leaves became greener and greener.

This is definitely not my best picture—the composition is off and I shot it on expired film, yet it was one of my first color film photos and for that I’m posting it for the memory. I like how this scene brings me to the calm of an early Sierra spring, where mornings are silent and the snow and ice are yet to turn into overflowing streams and rivers. I like how the shadows are still long but give hints at summer, and the trees shine green and reach out towards the new blue sky of the season.

“Hey Jake will you go stand over here so my photos looks more adventurous” haha @jpsmith_photo was actually already standing like this looking out over this amazing view. Mt. Rainier and the surrounding area is just unreal and the fall colors in the area are awesome 🤘🏼. I’m not a fan of Halloween but I guess the fall is alright.

In the presence of their majesty- Zoom in to the guy atop the hill on the right for a grasp of the scale. // The angles of the mountain are brought out more by snow. Similar to the effect of a black and white photo, the lack of distraction of color can make your recognize romance in the shapes of nature. // I’m Missing the snow from out here in Lakewood today. Did anyone hit the newly open slopes today? If so I’m mad jealous... . . . . . . . #visualsmovement | @visualsmovement #camp4pix | @camp4collective #colorado_creative | @colorado_creative #coloradotography | @coloradotography #all2epic | @all2epic #artofvisuals | @artofvisuals #way2ill | @way2ill #weekly_feature | @weekly_feature #shotzdelight | @shotzdelight #theimaged | @theimaged #dnvrcolorado | @dnvrcolorado #wayupcolorado | @wayupcolorado #outtherecolorado | @outtherecolorado #lovelivingcolorado | @lovelivingcolorado #nationalparkgeek | @nationalparkgeek #adventurenthusiast | @adventurenthusiast #TheMileHighCity | @themilehighcity #findyouradventure | @outdoorproject #GOATworthy | @backcountry #LiveBravely | @outsidemagazine #wildernessculture | @wilderness_culture #earthoutdoors | @earthoutdoors #stayandwander | @stayandwander #passionpassport | @passionpassport #YourShotPhotographer | @natgeoyourshot #mountaincommunity | @mountain_community

Early morning post whaaaaat??? PRO TIP: You never know when the light is going to pop, so ALWAYS have your gear with you in some way. Whether it’s a small camera, or if you’re like me and lug a 1Dx around everywhere you go, just do it. You’ll thank yourself when you get an epic shot that you weren’t expecting. This is not one of those epic shots. The light just didn’t turn out, but I’m glad I had my camera anyway, just in case. - - - - - - - - #camp4pix #bvsquad #fstopgear #awakethesoul #neverstopexploring #canon1dxmarkii #1dxmarkii #the_folknature #depthsofearth #serialshooters #eclectic_shotz #peakdesign #thevisualmag #mycanonstory #ig_banger #bokeh_shotz #weekly_feature #kreativegang #sunrise_pics #sunrise🌅 #sunrise_sunset #sunrise_lovers #cloudzdelight #cloudz #clouds

🌕 Celebrating #AlaskaDay (the date it was purchased from Russia in 1867) with a photo that I think captures the feeling of awe and lonesomeness that the far north offers, shot on a frigid night camping down an empty gravel highway in the Alaska Range earlier this month. ⭐Moonlit lake and mountains, the Orion Constellation and the Northern Lights.

Flew east last week to reunite with my OG IG adventure partner, the aptly named @adventurenurse, and we spent a few days in Acadia National Park, along with a day in New Hampshire doing absolutely nothing, and it was amazing. We saw a lighthouse, fall foliage, ate way too many carbs and laughed at the world’s saddest campfire (wet wood problems y’all), but it was a blast and I miss her already.

Fall is my favourite time of year to check out places I wouldn’t otherwise go to in the summer. ———————————————————————. 🇨🇦 Please note that this photo was taken in October 2017. @parks.canada has closed the area for the protection of Black Swifts (birds) in the cave.

Two toads diverged in a wood. Difficult toads often lead to beautiful destinations. If you don’t know where you are going, any toad will get you there. So many quotes about toads, I hope someone quotes me someday.
