🇮🇹🍇Ciao Dalla Veneto🍇🇮🇹
Renown for the Valpolicella region, Veneto is an integral part of Italy’s wine fabric. Located in the North Eastern reaches of the country, it offers infamous red blends and some stand out white wines too! •
We’re taking a closer look at a Valpolicella Superiore Ripasso wine. This style can also be referred to as a Ripasso della Valpolicella. What does this mean? Ripasso, which translates into “repassed”, is a distinct wine making method only awarded to a wine that wears this name. It’s the coming together of leftover Amarone skins and stalks (pomace) with new Valpolicella Classico wine! The result... is simply extraordinary 🤩- both for price and taste🤤. I’m proud to present to you Storia Antica, Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore 2014, DOC. As the name states, this region and its wine both have an ancient history 🏺!
On the nose👃🏼 a back and forth between baked and dried cherry and plum notes, liquorice, espresso, leather and a chocolatey finish round out a medium introduction! •
The palate does not disappoint and coats your mouth with chewy tannins that offer baked red fruits, sweet tomato flavours wrapped in an earthy finish that borders a classic raisinated element of this style of wine making! It offers medium acidity and a medium finish 👅!
#pourwinos put this wine on any dinner table and it begs to be paired with a fresh tomato sauce 🍅 on either homemade pasta🍝 or pizza🍕! If you do so, #pourrecommendations are bound to be heard! Have your say, what do you think of this region? How about this style of wine? Is there a bottle I need the try? Tell me below 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼!?!?!?
