👉Cool little #vestibular challenge with @scottyrobbo86b --- 👉Over stimulate one component of your inner ear balance / vestibular system & then challenge another component immediately afterwards. --- 👉Using a free form disc to spin, as I’m doing in this example, specifically stimulates the horizontal semi circular canals (even more specifically: my left horizontal SCC for a left spin) to the point that I’m dizzy & the vestibular system is somewhat overwhelmed. --- 👉Pulling the legs in closer to the body increases the rotation speed & also the core challenge. --- 👉Moving straight from the spin, into a bent arm stand, which is an exercise that requires more precise otolithic feedback, is then a touch more challenging. --- 👉The body is an open system. Everything is connected to everything. The bent arm stand primarily requires motor control & modulation based on feedback from the otolith organs, but the other components of the vestibular system contribute to this feedback too. -- 👉Taking one or more of those components away momentarily, can potentially demand an increased degree of attention directed to another specific part of the vestibular system; in this case the otoliths. --- 👉This one requires a heap of core control & highly functional cerebellum. It’s a big parasympathetic driver & if you go too hard, be aware that you could feel sick, vomit or even pass out. --- 👉Having fun with exercise is important, but so is safety. CARDIO...??? 🤔 So I always hated cardio and that’s why I never worked out but then I started weight lifting.. and I actually ENJOYED working out!! Crazy huh?? But for months now I haven’t been doing ANY cardio! And yes I was still seeing results! I was still eating right and my muscles were definitely getting more defined but I was missing out on something soo important!! Now... I’m usually the girl who’s going to tell you to stop doing so much cardio because I honestly believe that you don’t NEED to do cardio every day!! And if you’re like me, and you always hated cardio then that’s definitely something you want to hear! (Because weight lifting is what got me into working out and sticking to it). BUT, if you’re like me and ONLY lift weights as your workout, well good for you, you will get results, but let me encourage you to add a few days of cardio into your week!
