(usually 3-4 is a sweet spot for most people) don’t be afraid to go heavy, it WON’T make you bulky unless you eat too many calories 4️⃣Sleep: 7-9 hours a night to recover, rest and keep your hunger levels in check. when you don’t sleep enough, your body will be hungrier. so get those Zzzs! 5️⃣Cardio, Movement, and 10k steps/day. Are you getting your cardio(vascular) exercise minutes in? 🗣💨 • The Clinical Oncology Society of Australia has recommended cancer patients work towards a minimum of 150 minutes of moderate intensity aerobic exercise each week. Sound like a lot? 😖 Break this up into 5 x 30 minute sessions - how that's not so bad! 😃 • For most people moderate intensity exercise equals a brisk walk🏃🏼‍♂️, cycle 🚴🏻‍♀️ or swim 🏊‍♂️ at a pace that allows you to maintain a conversation but not sing. Bare in mind that if you're working out at a VIGOROUS intensity - when speaking a sentence becomes hard - then you only need half the number of minutes (that's 75) to tick off your weekly cardiovascular goal. • The fine print: • ☝🏼These guidelines are not achievable for everyone, especially if you're just starting out. For some people a 15 minute walk, or completing the supermarket shop may initially be a challenge. Remember this: some movement is always better than none. Speak to your Exercise Physiologist about structuring a plan that strikes the right balance for you. • ✌🏼 It appears that the benefits of exercise on preventing death and recurrence have a dosage response - that is, the more you do, the better your odds. So if you're doing 150 comfortably, don't stop there! Aim to push towards 300 minutes over time.

Using a #fakenews photo to share yesterday’s sweaty ass cardio session 😰💦 ——————— 👉🏽 60 minutes 1️⃣ 30 min treadmill work 10 min incline walk to warm up 10 min sprints - first 6 minutes 20s on/20s off, finishing with a tabata (20s on/10s off x8) 10 minute incline walk 2️⃣ 5 RFT 21,18,15,12,9 Calories on the rowing machine SS v-sits. With a prowler push one full length (there and back) inbetween each round - I started and finished with the prowler 3️⃣ 5-10 minute cooldown on the treadmill or cross/arc trainer —————— Oh. My. God.
