Recently, I told my sister I wanted to live a life where I was able to sit beside a river.
I had that lifestyle when I lived outside Yosemite but lost it when I moved away.
She told me that everyone wishes they could just sit all day beside a river but it wasn’t realistic.
But, I don’t think that’s quite right. Many people dream of nature and easy escapes but when given the chance to partake in it, it’s not of great importance.
For me, I battle daily with the struggle of knowing if security and money will give me more happiness and peace than being poor, without a lot, yet with an ability to easily do the things that make my spirit feel alive and at peace.
Do I really need all these paid subscriptions?
What’s more fulfilling?
Eating out multiple times a week, or finding a great trail to exhaust my mind?
Could I change my budget to lose the excess bills so I could more easily afford working less?
This is why nature is good for me.
Personal awareness, meditations, and reflections are important when being well is a priority.
