Like this post says newbies think more is better. More protein, more training, more sets etc. ▶
Doubling the amount of something does not bring results faster. ▶

😜 Silly Alex! 😜
Let me first say, this is just the tip of the iceberg of the crazy stuff I believed 7-8 years ago. Lol But, like anything. With time, you learn and adapt, & become better with practice and consistency. -
Taking in 2x my bodyweight in protein! I was a 140 pound kid determined to put on muscle, taking in almost 300 g of protein! Shakes upon shakes, cottage cheese, I mean anything I could get my hands on. As this isn’t the absolute worst thing that could have happened, I could have been taking in no protein I guess. Still, definitely not necessary and over the top!
Chocolate milk to me meant gainz! Extremely calorie dense and delicious! Again, not the worst thing in the world. But, Thank the lord for my parents and supporting me. Lololol.
Cell Tech Pre/Post Workout! For those unfamiliar, Cell Tech is basically sugar water with a bunch of creatine. At the time, it was the go-to product for building muscle at GNC and I followed the herd HARDCORE with this one. As I blew up like a ballon, my wallet dissolved to dust.
Trained twice a day. & when I say trained twice a day, I mean LOTS of volume twice a day. Because… that is what I saw in the magazines and I thought more meant more gainz and there was no limit to that.
My point is this, every single person that you follow or you see as an expert, has probably some pretty ridiculous stuff from the beginning of their fitness journey. They didn’t have everything figured out, & you shouldn’t expect yourself to either. Make your mistakes, learn from them and continue along your path towards your goals!
