Today felt roooooough. I’ve had to rework my training program with @bigbenchas to better fit my schedule, and today I got back into it after missing a solid week and a half. I’m exhausted, running on coffee, and just mentally drained, and really felt that come out physically in my training today. Happy that I at least got through my primary lifts, even though form took some work today and I had to use a belt because I was so fatigued. First clip is I think 185 for 5 - I had to re-rack because my original set up felt funky. Second is a 5 second descend 4x5, I kept it light because I felt like 💩💩💩💩💩. Side step BOSU lunges after squats? Sure, why not 😳🔥👌🏻 (you can clearly see on my face that this did not feel good 👎🏻🤪). —————————————————————————— I had one of my clients do these this week, and thought I would add them at the end of my leg day yesterday. I never understood why people hated leg day so much but I will tell you this one had me questioning my sanity a little bit. 1. pyramid hip thrusts. 10-8-6-4-2 reps, going up in weight each time. Featured you will see me thrusting over 300 pounds, which is a first and very exciting (next goal is two times my body weight). @totalprofitness your pad has changed my life. 2. Cable front squats. Focus on leaning back into your feels to engage your core and glutes more. 3. Pulsing dumbbell deadlifts. Go down, come back to your knees, go down again, then come all the way back up. Main focus here is to keep your back straight through he whole movement. Little different today for chest. I used the slingshot and climbed my way up to my max. I was able to get 4 reps out of my max of 95 pounds. I was told to try a different way of benching by using the squat racks. I’ve never tried it, so why not today? I was unsure the first couple times, but I did put my max on. 🌄 I used to think of life in such complex terms, making everything more difficult than it needed to be! 😵 Anyone else fall into the same trap? Real talk guys. 👆🏻 This guy right here is my why. He is the reason why I do this everyday and make my health a priority. Some people have 0 dad's, 1 dad👨‍👦, or like me blessed with 2👬. The day I found out he had passed was one of the worst days I've experienced😭. He has been their through everything in my life. So when he passed, it was a huge wake up call for me to get my shit together and take back my health. 👊🏻 I don't wake up everyday thinking "I'm so excited to workout"🙅🏻‍♀️. Honestly most days I tend to ask myself "do I really need to do this??🤔" But I love how I feel after and I remember why I started this journey. As much as I would love to see my dad again I want to enjoy a long healthy life with my family and friends. So he is my why. Why I do this everyday, why I choose to eat clean most days (80/20 rule 😁), and why I have stuck with it as long as I have. So my advice to anyone who is struggling to stay on track or needs help starting, figure out your why? Why do you want to do this? And is it strong enough to keep you going on those rough days? 🚫2 FOODS YOU SHOULD GIVE UP🚫 - 🤨Everywhere you turn, someone is claiming that you should eliminate some food or food group and upon doing so, you’ll effortlessly drop weight and live happily ever after. - 🔍Sometimes eliminating foods/groups *does* lead to weight loss. But most likely just because you’re eating less, not because of the vilified food, itself. And if you plan to eat those foods again, how are you going to prevent the weight from coming back when you do? (Not saying that’s not possible, just that you need to have a plan.) - 🤔Ultimately, there are no foods that will make it inherently impossible for you to lose weight. But there are 2 foods you should consider giving up: - 🤮FOODS THAT MAKE YOU PHYSICALLY ILL - If you *know* that dairy leads to an immediate bathroom trip and hours of stomach cramps, it just makes sense to eliminate or severely limit you intake. Unless you just enjoy being uncomfortable. - 😈FOODS THAT TRIGGER UNHEALTHY BEHAVIORS - If having one chip means you’re going to eat the whole bag in one sitting, maybe it’s best to just not have chips as an option right now. This doesn’t mean you have to never eat chips again.
