My bulking phase ends today! I weighed in this morning. I’m up 6kg from last summer!! 😱😂 It’s been an interesting ride on the gainz train. 🚂 I’ve loved eating all the foods - my appetite is endless hehe. 🙈It’s been awesome seeing my strength develop as my baby muscles began poppin’! (I might not look that buff to you but this is by the far the most muscle mass I’ve ever had and for that I am proud) 💪🏽 However, it wasn’t all positive. At times I wanted to stop and shrink back down in size. Sometimes societal pressures to be “skinny” would make me question what I was doing. But you know what? Fuck societal expectations!!! You do you boo! 😘 I’m glad I stuck it out. Sometimes you have to get uncomfortable to be comfortable. I’ve never felt more badass and empowered in my life! And I got to admit...it’s been nice having boobs again lol 🤣 Now I’m intending to do a mini shred. Aiming to lose approximately 2kgs before Christmas. I’m a fan of my triple S approach - slow, simple & sustainable so that’s what I’m going to implement. The little changes I’m going to make to work towards this goal will be to reintroduce regular cardio/HIIT sessions which I’m super excited about because I LOVE cardio! Also I’m going to focus on increasing my NEAT levels and probably go from about 6 meals a day down to 5. But we’ll see. For now my calorie deficit will mostly come from my calorie expenditure rather than any significant changes through intake. Otherwise I get hangry af. 😜

💥MONDAY MOTIVATION💥⠀ ⠀ Yesterday during my cardio walks several thoughts 💭 came into my head. I do have them occasionally. Am I working towards what makes me happy? Am I following my dreams?⠀ ⠀ I have always been a true believer in making every single second count. ⠀ ⠀ I remember back before I started losing weight I had all these dreams and where I wanted to be but didn’t know how to action them.⠀ ⠀ I decided I was going to start with where I was and use what I had rather than wait about for the right time. What I had was plenty I just didn’t know it back then. ⠀ ⠀ I was scared of failure. I was scared of making a mistake. I was scared I wasn’t perfect. ⠀ ⠀ Anyone I talk to now my advice would be you don’t need to be perfect to get what you want or do what you want or be what you want. You just have to have faith. ⠀ ⠀ You have to create your perfect time and opportunities. One step at a time. Every step I took, every better food choice I made I told myself I was moving forward. ⠀ ⠀ When you are not pursuing your goal and beating yourself up. I genuinely believe it’s like committing spiritual suicide. ⠀ ⠀ You have a goal that’s taking you out of your comfort zone and when you are out there you will find talents and skills you never believed you had.⠀ ⠀ If you are not where you want to be it has nothing to do with a system. It has everything to do with you need to accept you will need to make sacrifices. ⠀ ⠀ I want everyone to make their dreams a reality. Motivation? Transformation? I’ve had so many people ask me lately, why I changed my lifestyle and got into it fitness and competing the way I have... reason? Because I used to be a potato 🥔🤷🏼‍♀️ I’ve done my fair share of partying and drinking over the years, at 36 do I really need to go out and get so shit faced, waste money then be a debbie downer and feel shit for days after then eat shit then boom... viscous circle right there! Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t change any of it apart from gaining the knowledge I have now in my 20’s. I love feeling healthy, fit, strong, feeling good about myself, more confidence and finding what suits me and my goals plus now I train hard, I can afford to eat that cake and eat out without gaining kg’s. You think to yourself, "well I've just eaten a whole tub of ice cream and I've binged on chocolate today so I guess I might as well blow my whole diet routine out for this week and start again next week", only for Monday to roll around and you go through the exact same process. . . You say to yourself, "I've had a bad day at work, I don't feel like going to the gym today", so you skip the gym and before you know it it's the end of the week and you haven't trained at all. . . Or maybe you're just waiting for the "right" time to start a training plan or healthier routine. Sorry to say but there is no such thing as the right time. All we have is today, so rather than aiming for perfection and getting it 100% right why don't you just take imperfect action towards your goals? . Failing forward is still forward... . After Wednesdays sesh I knew I wanted to retest my 1 rep. Sure enough, I was right. 215lbs for the win baby! Cherry on top was shaving 2:27min off my "Jackie" time. Stronger AND faster. It works if you work it 💪Big thanks to @conradniven for filming, @corianne333 for talking about cooking with me between sets, @mgraber16 for always lighting a fire under my bum because she is a lifting beast, @dr_rob_mitchell1955 for the lifting cues and @aspencrossfit for always providing a solid place to train.
