-This has been on my watchlist for a while but with school and work, i haven’t gotten the chance to watch it. I’ve never loved Chris Pine but Ive always wanted him to prove that he’s more than a pretty boy which he doesn’t do in this film. He does his job and is better than average but doesn’t blow your socks off but there wasn’t a lot more to give with the script that he was given. I know 8t was nominated for an Oscar but at times it sounded like i was listening to a video game and not to 2 brothers talking to each other but on other occasions, you felt the comradery between the 2 main characters, so it was weird but still not that impressive when the script sounded like GTA 5. Ben Foster was fun to watch as the reckless older brother and was better than Chris pine but he was given better material to work with. The Oscar nomination for Jeff bridges is a joke, he plays Jeff Bridges and you don’t understand him half the time. One thing that did really like was the directing, I found it creative but no over the top, extremely clean and crisp and I really enjoyed it especially in the early part of the film and in the robbery scenes. Soundtrack was interesting, from country to blues to a symphony score they were all integrated well for the most part and didn’t feel out of place. Overall the movie was very entertaining and enjoyable with some questionable acting at certain points.
-Verdict: 7.5/10 and watch the film if you have some time #chrispine #benfoster #jeffbridges #hellorhighwater #moviereview
