Ever heard the saying “It’s only fun when it’s new” ? Let’s apply this to motivation.
If you feel as though you’re complacent in life, and not much is changing around you, you’ll tend to get comfortable to the point where you don’t strive to make changes. When this happens, progression stops.
Comfort roots from getting used to something “old”, and it’s easy to be comfortable. But step outside of that comfort zone for a second, and what do you notice happens? When you take the leap and push to make positive changes towards something “new,” things get fun again and excitement builds. Of course this excitement won’t last forever either, but that’s why you have to keep making new, positive changes. The more you can bring upon your own changes, the more excitement you’ll continually have, and the more the motivation will stick with you. Change can be incredibly powerful and lead to more lasting motivation if its’ utilized properly. It’s all a cycle that comes back around. If you notice complacency in any area of your life, I challenge you to get uncomfortable and make some damn changes for the better because it’s only going to benefit you more later on.
