Trying to get back to a routine! Got to the gym at the end of PT and there is no hiding the bump so ... people be like 🤰🏻👀. Headphones 🎧, game face 😎, and some sweat 💦 gets me over the insecurity of it real quick 👊🏽. ➕ 2 mile walk with Scout. ➕Leg day: ➡️ 4x12 light barbell squat + dead lift. ➡️ 3x20 weighted step up + 10 med wall ball squat toss. ➡️ 4x12 leg press + leg extension. ➡️ 3x10 individual hamstring curl. ➡️ 3x12 glute kick back. ➕1 mile of run (1min) / walk (30sec) intervals. ➕Stretched! *Cutting out lunges from here on out after listening to @expectingandempowered talk about the pelvis getting out of wack due to all the loosening ligaments. Listening to my body more and more and trying not to go too hard... which is really the hardest thing for me. That and cutting down on Blue Bell ice cream...🍦🙈.

As promised... it’s 1RM week!! 🏋️‍♂️ - Today I tested my squat! After viewing videos from last weeks 4x3 reps at 115kg and consulting the other s&c coaches from cas, I identified my weaknesses! These included losing stiffness at the bottom of the squat and distributing the weight too far over the heals at the base of the squat also (video 1) - So to fix this and better my lifts, as part of the warm up, I ramped up from the bar for 8 reps, to 60kg for 6, 80kg for 4, 100kg for 2 and into my first single at 115kg, attempting to improve the distribution across all areas of my feet (heel, inside toe and outside toe) as well as maintain the stiffness at the base! - This lead to the single at 115kg (video 2) being a lot better than last weeks 115kg for 4x3, although fatigue could have been a limiting factor too! - I then jumped to 120kg (video 3) and then 122.5kg (video 4) where I went back to putting too much weight through the heal and losing stiffness at the base of the squat... ultimately leading to a fail at 125kg (video 5) ❌ - Do you know what though... I don’t care that I missed 125kg... last December my form was terrible, and I could only achieve a 1RM of 110kg! After a lay off of 6 months due to uni commitments and hardly training I knew I was no where near this... I started light at 80kg for 4 sets of 6 and focused on technique, with a goal of reaching 1.5 x BW for a single!! Today I matched and beat that weight with 122.5kg to show just how far I’ve come!! And it’s only just the start 💪💪💪 - After squat testing I decided to treat myself with some 30s on 30s off con x 10 with a 2 minute rest for 2 rounds on battle ropes, Rower, assault bike, ski erg, MB slams, wall balls, boxing, plank and Leg holds 💦💦 - #strength #testing #1RM #squat #weightlifting #powerlifting #fitness #conditioning #strengthandconditioning #strengthtraining #training #depth #fail #circuits #sandc #gym #gymlife #fitfam #impact #impactwakefield #impactstrengthandfitness #RL #rugby #rugbytraining

This past weekend I moved clear across the country and my husband is out of town ALL WEEK 😬 So, in order to get my workouts in with my kids at home, I’m doing HOME WORKOUTS 🙌🏼 There are 2 circuits done back to back. You ever had a training session where you walk away thinking, "I don't feel like I've done that much..". Simply because you're not sweating? 🤷🏼‍♂️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I certainly have in the past. I wouldn't leave the gym until I'd done at least something that worked up a sweat.. 💦 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But, not every session needs to end this way. And, if you ever do find yourself walking away from the gym with your t-shirt still relatively dry, then I can assure you, it was still a worthwhile session! 👌🏼 They all are! Sweat or not... ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Obviously, if Fat Loss is the goal, you'll see improved results if most of your sessions do end up with your heart rate elevated and sweat dripping. But, for whatever reason (maybe a slight injury or just feeling tired), you may want to tone it down slightly. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Your usual 20 minutes of sprint intervals on the treadmill might be replaced by a 20 minute walk. Or you 15 minute weights Circuit replaced with a few rounds of mobility. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Either way, and for whatever reason, you're still experiencing all the other benefits of training. It might just be the physical benefit that a rest from the intense stuff brings, or the mental benefits that moving and taking some time out to do your own thing can bring. 🙏🏼 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ To sum up.. Yes, it's fun to do the intense stuff and end up a sweaty mess. But, if your training session result doesn't end in this, don't concede it as a "bad" session. There's no such thing ✌🏼

OUTDOOR WORKOUT/: You know me, always loving the great outdoors! 🙌🏼🌳☀️Here's a mini workout for you to give a go. Also gives you excuse to practice on those double unders🤘🏼 (or for some who still are learning, practice your basic skipping) • 1️⃣Squat Jumps 2️⃣Military Plank to Mountain Climbers (2) 3️⃣Side Rotation Lunges 4️⃣Burpee to Frog Kicks 🐸 5️⃣Beetles 6️⃣Skipping (1min) 30secs Each - Repeat 3-5 Sets. • Regress the exercise do Mountain Climbers (instead of adding the Military Plank), Single Burpees (instead of adding frog kicks), Side Planks (instead of Beetle), Basic Skipping or High Knees without the Rope (instead of Double Unders)...the rest you could all do! • Enjoy and Tag a friend! 🤘🏼💪🏼😜 #outdoors #circuits #fun #skipping #fullbodyworkput #naturallychloe
