Did that grab your attention?
What if I told you burning a candle in your home is just as bad as smoking a cigarette in your home? (Side note: I used to smoke, so there is no judgement here at all to you smokers, merely a comparison of fragrance to smoking, which you all know is bad and no surprise!) Fragrance is a catch all term that protects companies from disclosing what exactly is in said “fragrance” under the defense that that information is “proprietary.” What we do know is that many many many of these chemicals that make up these fragrances are completely toxic.
Fragrance can be found in: candles, perfume, air fresheners, dish soap, laundry and dish detergent, hand/body soap, shampoo, fabric softener, sunscreen, lotion, makeup and nail polish remover, medication, and more!
Medical issues fragrance is tied to:
•dermatitis •upper respiratory issues
So what do you do? Because obviously you don’t want yourself, kids, or pets smoking cigs in the house.
Take it one step at a time. Get a diffuser & some oils and ditch those candles, ditch those cleaning products and get you some Thieves, empty out that makeup bag and replace it with paraben, fragrance and synthetic free makeup. There are so many options available and I would LOVE to help you.
We are by no means perfect in this household, but I do feel good about what I put into the air, on my baby’s skin, on my face, what we clean the house with, etc. It has taken us over a year to get here and we are still making changes but I am so grateful for what we have accomplished.
Come ditch and switch with me!!!
