One of the challenges on our Lyme Park training sessions! First time it took ages to get dogs over this ladder but now they actually all climb up it. Cani-cross training isn't just strapping a dog to you, it also involves a lot of skills to keep it safe for you and your team mates and to keep it enjoyable. Training sessions encompass different skills every week depending on venue. Longer sessions at place like Lyme Park mean a great opportunity for training session. Encompassing ascents and descents, technical woodland trails, sprint intervals, differing terrain and how to get over obstacles! Need to reign it in. Far to tired and eating to much crap. The family have a viral infection. Very high temps, headaches, joints aching and just about making it to the bathroom. The pre-teens are glued to the sofa by day, watching things on their tablets but at night they are sleepwalking or talking about crap. Hubs also has it and is fit for nothing. I am ok so far, living on limited sleep and going to work for a rest. Nothing like smashing 3 pbs before 8am! Pb 1 - 15 min none stop running Pb 2 - distance 3.07k my best yet Pb 3 - most calories burnt on a run apparently lol Finally finished week 6 of couch to 5k this is the furthest I’ve gotten ever. Now I know I have been going on about my running injury but here is a learn that I wasn’t expecting. . As with many people, my job can be quite stressful sometimes and in recent weeks I’ve been getting a lot of headaches. These are the kinds of headaches that can only be cured by going to bed and sleeping. . I’ve now figured out that these are stress-related and the weird thing is that I didn’t get these headaches when I was running! . So I conclude that running has many benefits for me and relieving stress is one of them. In particular, I often figure out work challenges when I’m running (whether consciously or not) and I’m obviously missing this at the moment. . Running form drill 🏃‍♂️👍 Nobody takes huge strides uphill because we all know we need to lift our trail leg up before swinging it forward. Notice the figure 4 in the cover frame. Trail foot goes up first, before the follow through in the front phase of the stride. Huge advantage over the 'reachers' who break with every stride. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stand one leg on curb, actively pull from the back foot to go up-and-over and gently place foot on the other side, reset and repeat.
