Transportation Tuesday I put my new fall workout shirt on from @clubfitwear I ordered a medium Guess what?? I needed a small! Today starts week 3 of CrossFit and I was blown away when I finally could bring the bar over my head first week I couldn’t do it, I could’ve quit bc everyone else could do it and with weights I wasn’t embarrassed it gave me more motivation to keep going I am not comparing myself with anyone’s progress I don’t care what they can do bc I know I am trying I can’t get where they are if I don’t start where I am now. I am so excited to see where I’ll be next month. Having an 8hrs job and feeling hungry every 3 hrs is hard!!. . Sometimes it is not wise to buy junk food, cause spending 10 euros a day is not good for the pocket 😜. . Therefore I always preferred to prepare my small snack/meals to take to work. . specifically, back squats 🍑🍑 today has has all the feels already. such beautiful souls at @crossfitcontessa helping me get set up then encouraging me to keep going when I honestly thought I wasn’t going to make it through ten rounds (pretty much from round three onwards 🙈). At the end I was just overwhelmed that a) I did it and b) I didn’t feel alone that I cried. How can I not continue when I have found a place that makes me feel like this 💕💪🏼

Post-WOD yesterday, absolutely died during this workout. Back was still really tight from earlier in the week, upper body strength non-existent. Scaled pull ups to ring rows, hspu's to box push ups for the first couple of rounds and then to knee push ups, kettlebell swings were scaled from 24kg to 12. Made it 5 rounds exactly for part A. Part B had to use an empty bar for the overhead squats to start with, but had to scale again to front squats by the end of the round 9, only finished the round of 15. Part C completely fell apart, had to scale push ups to sit ups as had no strength left whatsoever, front rack lunges to normal lunges and cleans to just the bar. Really tough to not get disheartened after that! 2nd WOD at @crossfit.derby Glute bridges with an empty 15kg barbell, and built up to a 65kg Back Squat for parts A and B. For part C kept the Deadlifts at 35kg but used just the 15kg bar for the STOH (my upper body does not exist 😂). Also scaled 30 DU's to 60 SU's. Back felt super tight for this workout and gave me a bit of trouble with the deadlifts to start with, need to be better and warming up/stretching/cooling down in the future. On Monday I utilised an Open Gym session down at the box to have a little play around and test some 1RMs. I gave myself 15 minutes to build up to heavy singles for Deadlift, Back Squat and Power Clean. Deadlift 1RM of 84kg is a loss of 16kg from my previous 1RM 100kg about a year ago. Back Squat 1RM of 70kg is a 7kg loss from this time last year. My first WOD down at Crossfit Derby last week. Happy with the 1RM front squat that I managed to get to - 55kg - as I haven't consistently trained weights in a few months. Picked a light dumbell for the Arnold Press section and wasn't able to side plank for the full 45s on each side, in the last set swapped it out for a regular plank. In the 10minute AMRAP, I scaled the weight to (I think) around 50kg but I forgot to note the weight 🙈, TTB was scaled to hanging knee raises. Made it into the 8th round, which I think is a fair bit less than everyone else... Welcome to my journey from crossfit newbie to my first Rx workout and beyond! In July of this year I took part in my first crossfit competition - @rainhilltrials ; I had applied to the ballot with a friend who did crossfit regularly, but I was not a crossfitter. I got a place and muddled through the workouts just trying my best. My only goal was to not come last in my category (Wood - the lowest category) and I just about managed that! Reflecting on my week, so many great things have happened just this week alone. I have to take a minute to say how proud I am of this girl. When she walked into the salon almost 2 years ago I instantly knew we’d be good friends. Fast forward, we just completed our first full week of #crossfit. We laughed today about how terrified we had been of going in the beginning as our tired weak bodies hobbled to take this photo. 5:30am wakeups have never felt better, I’ve never been so happy to feel so sore, so accomplished. Believe me, if we can do it... so can YOU. The first class I took I thought I was going to pass out from the anxiety, she did too...but like everything else, if we don’t get uncomfortable we are incapable of growth. WE MUST GROW. WE MUST GET UNCOMFORTABLE. PUSH HARDER. WORK HARDER. REPEAT. FOR FOREVER. It’s as simple as making the choice to wake up earlier, to smile at the stranger in the grocery store, to push yourself that extra mile.
