I knew that from the first time I met her at a tap workshop in Indianapolis hosted by the Circle City Tap Company (@circlecitytap).
I’ve only met her twice, the second time being at the first ever Circle City Tap Festival (@circle_city_tap_fest) a year later.
Trust me, twice was enough for me to know just how special #TapInspiration Gabrielle Morrison (@stonetreemom) is.
Traveling to Indianapolis, I had no idea that I was going to connect with so many talented tap dancers. I especially had no idea that I was going to be able to forge a great relationship with Gabby, one that I hope stands the test of time. Gabby is an Indianapolis native who is not only one of the coolest, most talented tap dancers I’ve ever met, but she is also one of the nicest, most cordial people I’ve ever met. And that covers a lot of ground; I’ve met a lot of people in my lifetime.
Gabby is a part of the CCTC. As talented as she is, I was not surprised to see that talent runs in her family; her younger brother, #TapInspiration Clark Rulon (@clarkrulon), who I also met at the CCTF, is extraordinarily talented in his own right. These two have such a magnificent relationship, and they feed off of each other and make themselves better each day.
Since I last saw her, Gabby has gotten married and had a son. Her new family is beautiful; she and her husband are raising an adventurous kid who will grow up one day and know all about his mother’s and uncle’s talents! Who knows? He might lace up the tap shoes himself!
I’m a beyond proud to call Gabby a friend. It has been three whole years since I have seen her, but the 350-mile long bond we share cannot and will never be broken.
Happy birthday, Gabby! Enjoy your special day! 💜
