It’s easy for me to come on here and preach a strong girl power message. Choosing to be confident has mostly been easy for me. Fighting to be heard comes a little too naturally. Speaking on stage in front of hundreds is my happy place. But those things don’t make me proud of myself.
I feel like a real powerhouse woman when I’m aware of myself and show up for myself. When I make decisions that are healthy for me. When I’m honest about my feelings. When I’m vulnerable. When I’m slow enough to be present and listen to where other people are at in their story, to hold space for them. When I experience things just to feel it in that moment, not to achieve it or check it off a to-do list. When I do those things, I feel like a powerhouse woman.
Because those things don’t come naturally to me. I had to teach myself. It takes guts for me. They are things I wouldn’t have done a few years ago but, through practice, my crazy years as a single girl in her 20s has taught me how.
@wearlively just launched their Powerhouse Collection + I’ve been wearing mine like a badge of honor, reminding me to stand up for myself, to hold space for others, and to be sweetly present — to make those powerhouse moves true to who I am. 💕 #livinglively #sponsored
