“Give me silence, water, hope
Give me struggle, iron, volcanoes.”
my heart has been so full during this training trip that i’ve somehow barely registered what i put my body through. i look at this photo at the top of Nevado de Toluca and remember this week’s strained neck, twisted ankle, burning quads, sandpapery throat, aching feet, and the slight limp through the airport as I said my woeful goodbye to CDMX.
but mainly I just see an amazing new friend, teammate and training partner. someone who helped set the trail pace, took on the responsibility of reading the gradients and put one foot in front of the other with me while screaming in joy as we bombed down and powered up dusty, muddy, soft dirt, pine needle laden, sunny dappled terrain all week.
towards the top of one tough climb @iareolivia just turns around with a huge smile and yells with glee, “Faith! Do you smell that?!?” Haha. it was a mix of forest, burnt hay, & long absorbed manure that could have been bottled and sold....albeit the main market being trail enthusiasts.
thanks for the clown car of snacks in your running pack, swing set hiatuses, uphill life convos, dance parties and trail mom vibes. #trailroses ✨🙌🏾
and thank you for you @notafraid2fail
