I had so much fun at this lake the first time that I decided to go back solo for sunrise. Lots of solitude hiking alone in the Tetons, under the cover of night 🌚⭐️. But it’s not always the final destination that is most memorable. The light hitting the peaks was sick for sure. But a lot of the times on my adventures the journey to and from can produce the most thrill. I recalled hiking back here in a hurry to try to make a morning work shift with NPS. So much so that I barely noticed a young black bear. Appeared to be a cub, but I didn’t see anyone else so I guess a yearling, a whopping ..... 5 ft or so no exaggeration off to my right in a dense and tall huckleberry bush, eating breakfast. Honestly the bear hardly noticed me, must have been tasty ❤️, and I didn’t stick around long. Hahah that was kinda sketch actually. And this is coming from the guy who oftenly would be carrying my canon 1-400mm lens looking for bears on the trail, and when folks would walk by me ringing bear bells I would smile and jokingly say, I hope you didn’t scare the bears away 👍 .
