We realise there is so much choice when it comes to varied surfboard constructions. They all assist the board in different ways.
The placement of the #carbonwrap has been thought out for strategical reasoning. It is laid in specific areas to allow additional torsional twist of the board and bringing the carbon from the bottom of the board over the rail to the deck allows the tail to have a fast flex and pop motion, like the tail of a fish.
It’s responsive & the idea of the placement is to assist the surfer with more drive & flex. It took Daniel of @dmshapes years of research, test boards & loads of carbon tapes to get it just right.
The carbon on the deck assists with strengthening it up and helping with the flex. The design was initially to be used on epoxy stringerless boards but can also be used on PU as well. There is the eco friendly option of replacing the carbon tape with basalt and using a varied epoxy bio-resin too in order to minimise the impact on the environment.
Right now it’s patented & licensed globally for use on DMS, Lost Mayhem & Mark Richards Surfboards.
