I think some people are afraid to work with me because they think they'll have to stop eating chicken nuggets (this pic kills me!) or drinking their Starbucks coffee. ๐Ÿ˜‚ . You don't have to give up your favorite food. I still eat this food. Because, you know, Tacos. . I don't like to follow rules...so I'm not going to make my clients follow any either. That's why diets don't work. We follow someone else's rules for a while, and then we get tired of it and finally say, "Screw it! I'm going to eat enough Oreos today to make up for the last 12 weeks!" . Do I have a structure? Yes...but I NEVER tell my clients what to eat or how to move their body. It's all up to them. They get to decide what habits they want to focus on. And no matter what they decide, as long as they commit to it...they get results. . Life changing, mind-blowing, results. . Because it's not just about the weight loss. . It's about feeling good in our skin. . It's about healing. . It's about taking action in our lives. . It's about loving who we are. . Men. Women. Kids. Young. Old(er). Gut health is important no matter who you are. As most of you know, I lost my amazing husband to colon cancer just 4 months after he was diagnosed. 4 months. In case you didnโ€™t know, I was 20 weeks pregnant with our son at the time. He was fighting for his daddy then, and continues to be my little fighter now. ๐Ÿ’š If you donโ€™t know my heart, maybe you wonder why I share so passionately everyday. Maybe you think itโ€™s just another โ€˜one of thoseโ€™ things - but in case you donโ€™t know, it was during this time that I became determined to be the healthiest I could be - not only for myself, but as an only parent to my son. I decided that I wasnโ€™t going to sit on the sidelines of his life because of my own health or my own limitations. So now, I am free from all prescription medications, my body no longer struggles with thyroid and autoimmune issues, debilitating headaches, or seizures. My immune system is strong (and so is Harveyโ€™s). My moods are balanced and Iโ€™m not constantly stressed or anxious. I have lost and continue to lose weight, becoming even healthier. I have energy and smiles to outlast my toddler, and I sleep well at night waking up rested each morning. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ I just want you to know, I am here and want to help YOU. Donโ€™t ignore your body. Struggle bus ๐ŸšŒ The comfort of working out in your own home - using a hot pink LYFT headband because it was closest. Until you share the pic on social media. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธThat picture was only meant to be shared with my Challenge Group but wth... ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ฃ I almost talked myself out of my workout this morning 3 times before I pushed play. ๐Ÿ™‰๐Ÿ™‰๐Ÿ™‰ โŒBecause it was cardio (not my favorite) โŒIt was only 35 minutes (I could do it after work -- yeah right, 4 kids, volleyball game, dinner, HW --first thing to get dropped is the workout) โŒI was so tired (Like half sleeping for 30 more minutes will be refreshing) So, I did it and it felt great. ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿคฉ ๐Ÿ”ฎIt's HARD to stick to committing to workouts everyday - especially when the newness of it wears off. That could be day 3, day 8 or day 12 for some people. ๐Ÿ”ฎIt's HARD to keep going when you feel like you don't see any changes, you don't want to give up beer, so what's the point? โžก๏ธโžก๏ธThe point is, small changes add up, you don't have to make them all at once! ๐Ÿ”ฎIt's HARD to eat right the other 23 hours of the day. #sohard ๐Ÿ”ฎBut it's also hard to not feel comfortable in your own clothes. #chooseyourhard ๐ŸšŒ I struggled with my nutrition the last 6 weeks of summer. Little by little, the results of my hard work from earlier this year were vanishing. Let me know if you try it Butternut Squash and Kale Lasagna Ingredients 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, plus more for the foil 6 tablespoons all-purpose flour 4 cups whole milk kosher salt and black pepper 1 butternut squash (about 1 1/2 pounds), thinly sliced 4 cups torn kale leaves (from 1 small bunch) 6 no-cook lasagna noodles 1 1/2 cups grated Gruyรจre (6 ounces) or any cheese you choose. How to Make It Step 1 Heat oven to 350ยฐ F. Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat. Add the flour and cook, whisking, until foamy, 30 seconds. Whisk in the milk, ยฝ teaspoon salt, and ยผ teaspoon pepper. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, until thickened, 8 to 10 minutes. Step 2 Spread a third of the milk mixture in the bottom an 8-by-8-inch baking dish. Top with a third of the noodles, half the kale, and half the squash. Repeat, ending with the remaining lasagna noodles and milk mixture. Top with the Gruyรจre. Step 3 Cover the dish with buttered foil and bake until the filling is bubbling and the noodles are tender, 55 to 60 minutes. Uncover and broil until the top is golden brown, 2 to 4 minutes more.
