Sometimes reading out of your comfort zone can be hard. Those of us who love to read for the most part “know what we like.” The owner of the bookstore where I attend book club never plays it safe. She isn’t afraid to have us read things that you won’t find in the hands of her expected customer. There are five books that we read this year that I probably wouldn’t have picked up on my own.
