So two weeks away from my race, my speed per mile has gotten 9 seconds faster each week and down 20 pounds in the last 3 months! I heard a message yesterday concerning “not achieving your dream” In short my dream was to be big and strong since my first day I started training 4/26/87. I loved bodybuilding and dreamed of being on stage , but my genetics were not good enough and after over 20 years of training I came to that harsh fact . 1/2/2010 my 2nd 5 k in 3 weeks and my first earned trophy 🏆, 50 races later and a couple sidelined injuries, I yet again am running as this is what I love!!! I have a long road and for once I’m combing both loves, weight training and running to achieve my ultimate goal ! Yes I’m 46 yes I’m not built like a traditional runner but it’s something I’m very good at and outside of being a personal trainer it’s something I love to do!
So regardless of your age or missed chances all I can say is don’t give up , people say I couldn’t be a successful runner and at one point I listened , well it’s time to listen to myself and do what makes me happy! Love & believe in yourself, do your homework , be the hardest worker in the room , and believe in the most important person “you”💪🏆 #selfbelief #hardestworkerintheroom #doyourjob
