spending so much time with my little sister in italy was so amazing. with a ten year difference in age, I moved to california when she was ten so we missed a lot of 1:1 time as I dove head first into my career and avoided the cold winter holiday. our face to face visits were few and far between over the past decade. by the end of the week together in italy, i was reminded how incredibly intelligent and self-sufficient she is. she was ordering all our meals in italian, spinning poi with people we had just met, navigating us around rome without a map, *and* we pulled an all nighter the last evening and walked around rome exploring the city soaking in the epic views without the crowds then drank 4am espresso's and caught the sunrise in a beautiful park before heading to the airport. she just blew me away and i'm so grateful to be her big sister. so many smiles. so much gelato.
