I'm super thankful for today's rest day.... because of yesterday's "cheat" day 🙈
We had friends over last night for tacos and margaritas. I made the decision to pass on the tortilla wraps and made a taco salad, so I could have a margarita. Then two....then three..... You get the picture, lol.
I stepped on the scale this morning and I was up 3lbs 😬 damn salt....but SO good!
The difference today however, unlike any other "diet" I've been on, is I didn't beat myself up over it. I didn't let it derail me and my continued efforts to be the healthiest me possible.
Life happens, and it's so important to understand that one day, one drink, one donut or anything else for that matter, won't make a giant impact. What WILL however, is when you see that number on the scale climb, say screw it, I failed anyway, and then go back to old habits.
Quick fixes don't work. Deprivation of the things you enjoy doesn't work. Beating yourself up over letting life happen doesn't work.
What does work? Consistency. Creating healthy habits that are sustainable long term. Balance, and cutting yourself some slack on occasion. Those things work.
This morning I got out of bed (crawled actually lol) made myself a balanced breakfast, chugged my water and I'm carrying on.
So eat the cookie, have the glass of wine or slice of pizza and carry on. Just maybe not all 3 at once 😂
